Pakistan captain Babar Azam is once again in the midst of a comical incident after he decided against using a DRS in their ongoing Test against the West Indies.
Having lost the opening Test of the series, Pakistan are facing the Caribbean side in Port of Spain, looking for some important World Test Championship points. However, while trying to stage a comeback, Pakistan squandered a golden opportunity to run through the West Indies batting line-up on Monday morning, as the hosts inch closer to 350 runs.

The incident happened in the first session of Day 2 of the Test. The left-arm orthodox spinner, Ali Usman, was bowling the final ball of the 87th over, looking to rip into the West Indies lower order.
Bowling to Kemar Roach from around the wicket, Usman pitched a good-length ball on middle and off stump. The delivery straightened and struck Kemar Roach’s pads, while he tried to defend.
There was a mild appeal from the wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan and slip fielder Salman Agha, but nothing from the bowler. Standing in the second slip, Babar Azam seemed to have a word with the keeper, but nobody looked interested in using the DRS.
Moments later, it was revealed by the ball-tracking that the ball was going to hit the leg stump and three reds were shown, meaning Pakistan missed a big chance to get rid of Roach.
After the incident was shown on the big screen at the venue, Kemar Roach and captain Roston Chase gave each other a look, and the bowler looked visibly upset with himself, holding his head in his hands.

How much did the DRS blunder cost Pakistan?
When Babar Azam and co. refused to use the DRS, the score read 277/6 after 87 overs, with Kemar Roach unbeaten at 0 off 17. He was sticking to an end with captain Chase at 61*(106). Having joined Chase at 269/6, the duo batted together till 304/7, before Chase’s wicket at 70(126).
However, Roach batted another 45 balls and finished with 19(62). He added 35(72) with Chase, 19(23) with Shamar Joseph and 3(11) with Jomel Warrican before he was dismissed in the 100th over.
Pakistan eye series tie in West Indies
Trailing 0-1 in the series, Pakistan were put in to bowl first by West Indies at the Queen’s Park Oval on Sunday morning. Courtesy of 73(150) from Justin Greaves and 70(126) from Chase, alongside double-digit scores for six others, West Indies finished with 344 on the board in 105.4 overs.
The lower order also chipped in with some runs, extending their innings closer to lunch on Day 2. Off-spinner Sajid Khan picked 4/85 as Pakistan’s pick of the bowlers, while Mohammad Ali, Ubaid Shah and Ali Usman scalped a couple of wickets each.
On the back of his unbeaten 58 in the last match, Babar Azam will once again look to step up and lead his team to a substantial first-innings lead in the absence of the centurion from the first match, Shan Masood.
Apart from Babar, the seniors like Rizwan, Imam-ul-Haq and Salman Agha will also have the added responsibility to try and leave the bottom of the WTC table.
