Team India had a shambolic time with the bat, as the top order falling inside the powerplay. The vice-captain Shreyas Iyer also followed the trend as the Indians made a mockery of themselves in a chase of 135 runs at Wellington on Saturday evening.

During his stay, Shreyas Iyer looked like a man on a mission, scoring a brilliant 30 after facing 46 deliveries, hitting four boundaries and a biggie. However, he had Kyle Jamieson get his number in Wellington.

Kyle Jamieson brings back ghost of short ball for Shreyas Iyer in Wellington

After spending a good amount of time in the middle, Shreyas Iyer looked comfortable during his partnership with KL Rahul. The duo shared a 39-run stand for the fifth wicket—the biggest for India on the day.

However, Kyle Jamieson caught him off guard, bringing back Shreyas' bad memories against short balls.

The lanky Kiwi paceman bowled a nasty bouncer angled into his left shoulder. As a result, the cramped-up batter could only nick it back to the keeper.

For the second time in this ODI series, Shreyas could take India over the line in the chase, even though he was India's top scorer in the IND vs NZ 2nd ODI on Saturday.

Kyle Jamieson, Jacob Duffy keep India under pressure, but visitors ahead on DRS method

Kyle Jamieson and Jacob Duffy were unplayable in Wellington's testing conditions, especially after the rain-curtailed day on Saturday. The fast-bowling duo shared three wickets apiece, while concussion substitute Matthew Fisher also took one scalp.

However, the New Zealand bowlers didn't have enough runs on the board to the defend, despite the Indians losing the plot on regular intervals.

During the second rain intervention, the visitors are 113/7 after 26 overs, with KL Rahul (26* off 38 balls) being the only recognised batter in the middle. But they are four runs ahead on the DRS method.
