Whenever India plays on the big stage, the nation cheers together for the players, but when IPL steps in, friends become enemies to support their favourite teams. The IPL doesn’t just split fans; it even tests friendships on the field, as a recent banter between Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma clearly showed.
Donning the GT and SRH jersey, Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma have clashed on the IPL stage many times, but Gill recently stole the spotlight even before IPL 2026 began. During a fun game segment, he trolled SRH for their last IPL triumph in front of Abhishek Sharma.

Injuries threaten SRH’s IPL 2026 dreams
In the last few seasons, the SRH has emerged as one of the fiercest sides as their firepower became a serious threat to the opponent sides. After finishing as runners-up in IPL 2024, they struggled through a tough IPL 2025. IPL 2026 has been even harsher, with consecutive injuries emerging as their biggest hurdle.
As the tournament is commencing in just a few days, Captain Pat Cummins is all set to miss the initial matches of IPL 2026 as he is still recovering from a back injury. Along with that, the franchise faced another massive setback.
Young Australian all-rounder Jack Edwards has been ruled out of the entire tournament, and that has become a massive blow. The troubles don’t end there, as Eshan Malinga is yet to receive clearance from Sri Lanka Cricket following a serious shoulder injury. Even before facing the first ball, SRH is already struck down by consecutive injury blows.
Captain Gill eyes second crown for the Titans
Even after being absent from Team India’s T20I side in the recent past, Shubman Gill is ready to be back in the shortest format as the IPL 2026 is inching closer. Since taking charge of the Gujarat Titans, the trophy has eluded them, but the team remains determined to change that in the upcoming season.
As the Titans have already started their camp, captain Gill was seen grinding hard on the nets. With the tournament set to begin on March 28, the Titans will open their campaign against Punjab Kings on March 31.
