Abhishek Sharma means business, and there is no denying that no one can be more dangerous than him at present if he gets going. Saturday was one of those days when he was in action during the SRH intra-squad match, and every opposition player of his received a bit of a warning about what lies ahead in IPL 2026.

Despite being the No. 1-ranked T20I batter in the world, Abhishek was often criticised during the T20 World Cup 2026, when he had a horrible run of form.

However, he silenced everyone by showing up when it mattered the most, smashing a 21-ball 52 in the all-important final against New Zealand at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Abhishek Sharma Goes Berserk Ahead Of IPL 2026

Coming to bat during SRH’s intra-squad match, which was live on YouTube, Abhishek showed no mercy to anyone while representing the A squad. He made 94 runs off 42 deliveries before losing his wicket to Brydon Carse, who came to bowl with half pants.

Until losing his wicket, Abhishek was pure entertainment at the crease, though the story was not the same for the SRH bowlers who rolled their arms over from the other end.

As it was SRH’s intra-squad match, the crowd were not in the stands when Abhishek Sharma was hitting sixes for fun.

How Abhishek Sharma Performed In IPL 2025?

Having made 439 runs across 14 matches at an explosive strike rate of 193, Abhishek did not have an exceptional IPL 2025. Although he notched up 1 century and two half-centuries last year, he was pretty inconsistent throughout the season.

Overall, Abhishek punished all IPL bowlers with 46 fours and 28 sixes last year. His best – 55-ball 141 – came against Punjab Kings, a knock that had 14 fours and 10 sixes.

In total, Abhishek has played 77 matches in the IPL, making his debut way back in 2018. Thus far, he has tallied 1816 runs, having got a strike rate of 163.02.

SRH IPL 2026 Schedule

SRH will play the IPL 2026 opener on March 28, against defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

After that, SRH will have IPL fixtures against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Punjab Kings (PBKS), on April 2, 5 and 11, respectively.

Notably, the rest of the fixtures are yet to be announced, as the BCCI has only announced a 20-fixture IPL schedule. The remaining IPL schedule will be unveiled soon, as it was delayed due to the Assembly Elections dates across the country.

Abhishek Sharma will be in action next against Virat Kohli-starred RCB, and he will be looking forward to pulling off a show against the man with whom he was compared during T20 World Cup final.
