Glenn Phillips dives extraordinarily during IND vs NZ 2nd T20I (Source: Screengrab)
Glenn Phillips has made a habit of flying through the air, showing the world why he is often widely regarded as the most complete cricketing athlete of this generation. On Saturday (October 24), another such event took place when India and New Zealand were up against each other for the 2nd T20I of the five-match series at Hagley Oval, Christchurch.
Just when Arshdeep Singh returned to bowl the 13th over of New Zealand’s innings, Glenn Phillips played him towards mid-off for a quick single. And then, after realising he could be run out if he didn't put in the dive, the Kiwi brought out a full-stretch dive to get to the non-striker’s end as quickly as possible.
It was so impressive to the naked eye that the video went viral in seconds.
Phillips Runs Two After Superhuman Dive
To draw attention from around the world, Phillips took almost no time to get up after the ball broke the stumps with a direct hit from India captain Shreyas Iyer and went elsewhere. He also completed two runs before the on-field umpires went to the big screen to check.
The replay showed he was home, and thus, his two runs were valid.
