India, in all likelihood, will travel to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), for their fixtures in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2028, which will be primarily hosted by Pakistan. The PTI reported that the UAE will be India’s potential destination for the mega event, although nothing has been confirmed just yet.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Friday confirmed that the Women’s T20 World Cup 2028, a 12-team competition, will take place from September 7 to October 1. India, who have been maintaining a clear stance of not travelling to Pakistan for some time now, will keep on doing the same.

Pakistan To Host All Women’s T20 World Cup 2028 Matches Except India’s

As confirmed by the ICC, Pakistan have the right to host all Women’s T20 World Cup 2028 fixtures in its country. However, except for India, who don’t travel there whenever an ICC or Asian event happen due to their current geopolitical situation, other nations will have different venues.

As things stand, the UAE will have Smriti Mandhana-led side’s matches.

"Pakistan and India follow a two-way hybrid model under which whenever either country hosts an ICC or an Asian event, the other team plays its matches at a designated neutral venue. Pakistan will look to host all matches of the 2028 Women’s T20 World Cup with the United Arab Emirates being considered as the venue to host matches involving India," a PTI report read.

When India Last Traveled To Pakistan For Cricket

Ever since the Mumbai terror attack in 2008, India has suspended all the bilateral ties with Pakistan. The BCCI, as well as India’s government, decided to keep players’ safety as the utmost priority.

India’s last match against Pakistan in Pakistan was an Asia Cup Super 4 match in 2008. Back then, Karachi hosted the match.

There, India made 308/7 first, and Pakistan chased the target in 45.3 overs with eight wickets in hand.

Younis Khan, having made 123 off 117 balls without losing his wicket, was the hero of that India vs Pakistan match.
