In a heart-stopping moment, Ashok Sharma’s 150 kph fiery delivery hit Mukul Choudhary badly during the IPL 2026 clash between LSG and Gujarat Titans held at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.
The match began with LSG batting first at their home ground. The top and middle order got good starts but failed to convert them into big scores, resulting in a lack of partnership and stability.
Ashok Sharma hits Mukul Choudhary badly
To save LSG’s sinking ship, youngster Mukul Choudhary stepped up. However, while facing Gujarat Titans’ pacer Ashok Sharma, the young finisher got injured briefly.
In the 17th over, Ashok bowled a short-pitched delivery at a quick pace of 150 kph. Mukul, meanwhile, was beaten by the pace and failed to duck or sway away in time.
The ball ended up hitting the top of his helmet, and because of the impact, it deflected and rolled towards third man.
While both batters ran for a leg-bye run, Mukul Choudhary appeared startled by the hit. As a precautionary measure, LSG physio ran out in the middle to conduct a concussion test on Mukul.
Thankfully, Mukul was fine and continued batting. However, he could hardly make any difference as he was dismissed on just 18 off 14 balls, and LSG eventually settled for just 164/8.

Mukul Choudhary’s previous heroics
For LSG, Mukul Choudhary’s fitness and safety are paramount. In the last game against KKR, the 21-year-old smashed 54 off just 27 balls, including 7 sixes, to single-handedly win the game for LSG.
He scored 54 runs in the last 4 overs alone and hence was called an instant IPL sensation. Interestingly, Choudhary is coming off a breakthrough Syed Mushtaq Ali season where he scored 173 runs at a 200+ strike rate.
Hence, given his potential, LSG signed Mukul Choudhary for ₹2.60 crore during the IPL 2026 auction. Interestingly, Mukul can also keep wickets, which is an added advantage for Lucknow.
LSG fall to a mediocre total
Meanwhile, LSG had a mixed start to their game against the Gujarat Titans as they put 164 runs on the board in the first innings.
The innings never truly gained momentum despite a brisk start. Mitchell Marsh smashed 11 off just 4 balls early on, but his quick dismissal set the tone for a stop-start innings. Aiden Markram looked solid for his 30 off 21, while skipper Rishabh Pant chipped in with 18.

However, the middle order faltered under pressure. Nicholas Pooran, Ayush Badoni, and Abdul Samad all failed to convert their starts.
For GT, Prasidh Krishna was the standout performer, claiming four crucial wickets, while Mohammed Siraj kept things tight with an economical spell.
Still, LSG are not completely out of the game, as Ekana’s wicket has been tricky to bat on. The bowlers have to start well in the powerplay to make a game out of this total.
