The Bangladesh Cricket Board's strict No Objection Certificate (NOC) policies have allowed pacers Shoriful Islam and Nahid Rana a one-day extension in PSL.
Notably, both Shoriful and Nahid are actively participating in the ongoing Pakistan Super League, for which the Bangladesh apex body has granted them extended NOCs.
While Shoriful Islam represents Peshawar Zalmi, Nahid Rana also bowls for the same team, with Shoriful featuring in four matches and Nahid Rana in three in the PSL.
Bangladesh pacers given extended NOC timeline
The duo were granted the extended NOCs through an official statement from the Bangladesh Cricket Board in a press release issued on April 12.
“The decision has been made following a request from their PSL franchise Peshawar Zalmi, as well as the Pakistan Cricket Board,” the BCB statement read as quoted by The Daily Star.
Earlier, the NOCs were valid up to April 12, 2026, for both players. However, under a revised arrangement, both have been permitted to stay in Pakistan as their PSL match is scheduled for April 13, 2026 against Multan Sultans.

“Shoriful Islam and Nahid Rana were originally granted NOCs valid until 12 April 2026. Under the revised arrangement, both players have been permitted to remain in Pakistan for Peshawar Zalmi’s scheduled PSL fixture on 13 April 2026,” it further added.
This development comes as both Shoriful and Rana are part of the 15-man Bangladesh squad for the first two ODIs of the three-match series against New Zealand, starting on April 17.
With only four days available to travel, rest, and regroup, their inclusion could be a concern for the Bengal Tigers, as the board would prefer their pacers to return early to the national camp.
Shoriful Islam, Nahid Rana in top form to play NZ ODIs?
Shoriful Islam has taken two wickets from the four matches he has played, while being slightly expensive with an economy rate of 8.36.
Nahid Rana, however, has been the better performer, picking up five wickets from his three innings while maintaining an impressive economy rate of 5.20 and a strike rate of 12.00.
Prior to this, Nahid Rana featured in the Pakistan vs Bangladesh ODI series, where he managed to pick up three wickets at a solid economy rate of 5.37. Hence, Nahid Rana’s presence in the New Zealand tour appears to be a crucial and non-negotiable part for the BCB.
Shoriful Islam, meanwhile, has been a solid 6-foot-3-inch left-arm pacer for the country, where the 40-ODI-match star has managed to take 58 wickets at an economy rate of 5.56.
Though his T20 stats last year haven’t been very impressive, he is regaining form ahead of the upcoming clash.
Mutafizur Rahman returns to Bangladesh, leaving PSL 2026
The three-match ODI series with New Zealand will conclude on April 23 at Chattogram, with captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz leading the team alongside Liton Das, Towhid Hridoy, Soumya Sarkar, Mustafizur Rahman, and others.
Speaking of Mustafizur, the veteran has also been playing PSL 2026 for Lahore Qalandars, where he has picked up six wickets from five matches at an economy rate of 7.18.
He last played on April 11 against Peshawar Zalmi. However, no report of him continuing or receiving an extension has been shared; hence, it can be understood that Mustafizur Rahman is set to return to the country on April 12 itself.
