Aaryavir Sehwag, the son of India’s legendary batter Virender Sehwag, continued to do wonders at such a young age. On Friday (November 6), during India U19’s Asia Cup opener against Nepal U19, he kept on doing the magic with the bat in hand.

Coming to open for India U19, Aaryavir smashed seven fours and four sixes in a scintillating 52-ball 70 not out. Thanks to him, along with captain Lakshya Rajesh Raichandan’s 63-ball 53 not out, India U19 chased down an easy target of 129 in just 19.1 overs at Al Amerat.

Aryavir Sehwag Follows His Father Virender Sehwag's Footsteps

Just like his father, Aaryavir Sehwag opens the innings and has the habit of getting his team off to a blazing start. He did the same on Friday, taking only 34 balls to a fine half-century.

The Nepal bowling attack, including Bipin Sharma, Abhay Yadav and Sachin Bhatt, was all at the receiving end of Aaryavir’s aggressive approach.

Aaryavir will try to carry on the momentum when India U19 will face Pakistan U19 on Sunday (November 8) in Match 8 of the U19 Asia Cup 2026. The match will be held at the same venue. Virender Sehwag will closely watch the match to see how his son will perform against the arch-rivals.

Aaryavir, who had the opportunity to play Delhi Premier League (DPL) in 2025 and 2026, was in action in September, when India U19 faced Australia U19 in a three-match ODI series. He had the scores of 28, 47 and 34, and on Friday, it reached even greater heights.
