Virat Kohli argues with umpire in IPL 2026 vs GT

RCB zealot Virat Kohli had an animated argument with the umpire after his captain Rajat Patidar was declared out against the Gujarat Titans in match number 42 of the IPL 2026 season. The legendary Indian batter argued with the umpire over the legitimacy of the catch taken by Jason Holder near the boundary line.

Television replays indicated that Holder might not have taken the catch cleanly, prompting an aggressive response from the RCB camp.

Pakistan likely to host Australia for ODI series: Report

According to reports, the Pakistan cricket team might host Australia for a three-match ODI series this year. Geo News claimed that the two teams will be squaring off for their short series between May 31 and June 4. The report also stated that all three matches of the series will be hosted by the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

Tamim Iqbal launches new tournament in Bangladesh

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Tamim Iqbal has announced that the board is planning to introduce a 2nd XI Championship in the National Cricket League. The primary focus of the tournament is to give more playing opportunities to second and third division players in the country.

Iqbal also added that the tournament can also serve as a platform for senior Bangladesh players in a bid to regain match fitness and ease their way back into competitive cricket after an injury layoff.

BCCI punishes Riyan Parag for vaping episode in IPL 2026

The BCCI has punished Rajasthan Royals skipper Riyan Parag after the latter was spotted vaping inside the dressing room earlier this week during the IPL 2026 season. Riyan was found to have breached Article 2.21 of the IPL Code of Conduct, which pertains to a “conduct that brings the game into disrepute.”

The cricketer, refusing to file any formal appeal, will have to pay a fine of 25 percent of his match fees for his misconduct.

Kumar Sangakkara joins Sri Lanka Cricket

Former Sri Lanka captain Kumar Sangakkara has been appointed as one of the nine members in the new Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) committee. Sangakkara is one of the three former cricketers in the committee alongside Roshan Mahanama and Sidath Wettimuny.

A majority of the committee’s members hail from corporate, legal and political spheres. Politician Eran Wickramaratne was appointed as SLC chairman.
