Virat Kohli is an animated character, and he is a completely different personality on the field. He goes to war when playing for his side (be it India or RCB), and the legendary player never shies away from expressing his emotions in front of the opposition team.

A similar animated gesture from Kohli was witnessed in the GT Vs RCB IPL 2026 match at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. In fact, there were two such incidents when Kohli lost his cool, and the world saw glimpses of the angry man who once dominated the bowlers.

Kohli hurls abuse at Shubman Gill in tense GT Vs RCB contest

RCB struggled in front of the GT bowlers as barring Kohli himself, others failed to deliver the goods, and the team got bundled out for a paltry 155. The target was modest, and captain Shubman Gill came out all guns blazing as he targeted RCB pacer Josh Hazlewood.

The GT opener smacked a couple of sixes and boundaries as the Titans captain punished the bowlers inside the power play. However, the turning point came when Bhuvneshwar Kumar, the man with the golden arm struck.

Gill charged down the track and muscled the ball, but Kohli was standing at short cover as the RCB fielder took a sharp catch. He looked furious and animated as the 37-year-old threw the ball down on the ground in anger and hurled abuse at his Indian teammate.

The RCB opener was all charged up as he said a word or two to Gill while the GT skipper was walking back to the pavilion.

Not the first time Kohli got angry today

The reaction after dismissing Gill was not the only time Kohli looked angry on Thursday evening against the Gujarat Titans. The first incident came when Arshad Khan’s deceptive delivery dismissed Rajat Patidar.

The RCB captain failed on his attempted pull shot as he got a top-edge, and Jason Holder from deep square leg came charging in and grabbed the ball with a stupendous dive. The umpires gave the decision in GT’s favour, and Kohli was angry as he believed the ball had touched the ground.

The RCB opener was furious as he argued with the umpire, but nothing happened as the original decision stayed in favour of the fielding team.

Kohli showcases aggressive batting nature in GT Vs RCB IPL match

Not only as a fielder, but Kohli also showed his aggressive side while batting against the GT bowlers. RCB were put into bat, and the right-handed batter looked in imperious touch as he took down Kagiso Rabada in his first over.

The 37-year-old invited Rabada with not one, not two, but five boundaries in a row as the pacer conceded 21 runs. The RCB opener looked in some mood, but Rabada eventually had the last laugh as he scored 28 off 13 balls, but became the South African pacer’s victim.
