Australia is likely to come to Pakistan for a proposed three-match ODI series, set to be played in the month of June, 2026. This arrangement is likely as all the cricketing teams are setting their eyes of the 50-over ICC World Cup and are concentrating more on 50-over matches than any other format.
A three-match one-day international series is set to be part of the proposed itinerary, and will be giving the Pakistani team much needed practice against a top-tier team in a huge international assignment, that too at home.
However, both the teams, Pakistan and Australia, will also have to concentrate on a number of Test matches as well, that they are scheduled to play. This is because the WTC championship final is also scheduled for 2027, the same year in which the ICC Cricket World Cup in schedule in South Africa, Namibia and Zimbabwe.
Australia tour of Pakistan: Tentative dates with proposed schedule
Pakistan's recent performance in 50-over ICC competitions has been embarrassing, as evidenced by their group-stage elimination from both the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 at home and the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. Australia, on the other hand, won the World Cup and advanced to the CT semifinals after dominating these competitions.
The Australians haven't played a 50-over match on Pakistani soil since 2025, when they traveled there for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 and advanced to the semifinals. For the first time since 2022, the Australians will go to Pakistan for an ODI series. A tentative schedule has now been released for the most recent tour.
Australia truly have dominated the Pakistan team in the 50-over format and has had a clear upper hand with 71 wins over the 36 wins for their opposition.

Pakistan has had dismal results in recent 50-over ICC competitions, including a group-stage exit from the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 and the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 at home. Australia, on the other hand, dominated these competitions, winning the World Cup and finishing in the semifinals of the CT.
Australia and Pakistan likely to play 3 ODIs in Lahore
The tentative schedule for the proposed three-match ODI series between Pakistan and Australia will be a significant assignment for the hosts. The ODI series between Pakistan and Australia is probably going to take place in Lahore.
According to the suggested itinerary, the first ODI will take place on May 31, the second on June 2, and the third on June 4. The PCB's formal release is anticipated to confirm the final venue information and match times.
In the upcoming days, the series schedule is anticipated to be publicly announced by the Pakistan Cricket Board. Once finalized, the series will be Pakistan's next significant domestic international cricket assignment.
Bangladesh next stop for Australia after Pakistan
After a short stop in Pakistan, the Australian team will travel to Bangladesh for a complete white-ball series, scheduled for June 2026. This will be the first bilateral ODI series in Bangladesh between Australia and Bangladesh after 15 years.
All three matches will be scheduled to be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. The tour will begin with three ODIs on June 9th, 11th, and 14th, followed by three T20Is on June 17th, 19th, and 21st at the Bir Sreshtho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Chattogram.
