Josh Hazlewood received a massive humbling from Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill in match number 42 of the IPL 2026 season. Bowling his first over of the game, mere days after delivering a match-winning performance against the Delhi Capitals, the legendary Australian paceman started off his spell by conceding three boundaries and two huge sixes.

Hazlewood’s expensive opening spell ensured the Gujarat Titans got off to a flier in their run chase at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. Through the course of his first-over thrashing at the hands of Shubman Gill, the express paceman also attained an unwanted record for his personal T20 profile.

RCB bundled out for just 155

Defending champions RCB were put into bat first by Gujarat Titans skipper Shubman Gill at the toss. Even though franchise veteran Virat Kohli got his side off to a flier, the RCB team still lost both its openers inside the powerplay.

Devdutt Padikkal at number three top-scored in the innings with his 40-run knock from 24 balls. Captain Rajat Patidar made 19 from 15 before his dismissal sparked a major controversy in the game.

Despite reaching 79-2 inside eight overs at one stage, the visitors bundled out for just 155 in 19.2 overs.

For the Titans, Arshad Khan unfurled the spell of the innings with exceptional figures of 3-22. Overseas bowlers Jason Holder and Rashid Khan also picked up two wickets each in the innings.
