The Royal Challengers Bengaluru reached the IPL 2026 Final on a triumphant note against the Gujarat Titans on May 26 eve at Dharamsala. As smooth as their win was against GT, Virat Kohli was seen poking fun at Shubman Gill & Co. even before the start of the match, much longer before the results were out.
Virat Kohli, known for his fun-loving, aggressive and on-field character, pulled the leg of the ‘Aava De’ squad with his hilarious antics from the sidelines as GT were performing a photoshoot for the franchise.
Kohli And His Antics With Gill
Virat Kohli pulled off multiple pranks with Gill this season. From checking out the GT skipper’s beard to nagging him on the field with funny remarks, the duo shared several cherishable moments on screen for fans to rejoice.
As the all-important match day came to the forefront in the form of Qualifier 1 RCB vs GT, Kohli was seen in a light mood from the very beginning of the game.

A spectator’s camera from the crowd caught the RCB star doing the ‘Babaji Ka Thullu’ gesture towards the GT squad as he himself laughed the gesture off, with no one from the GT squad responding to his action.

Moreover, Virat Kohli's light, funny gesture added a lighter tone to the Ticket To Finale game on May 26, which RCB ultimately won by 92 runs.

RCB Dominate GT At Dharamsala
Meanwhile, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru were sent to bat first by the Gujarat Titans after losing the toss. Venkatesh Iyer gave a quick start but fell early, with Virat Kohli scoring a 25-ball 43 before getting dismissed in the ninth over. It was captain Rajat Patidar who played a leader's knock with a blitzkrieg 33-ball 93 that shocked the GT bowlers.
The mammoth strike rate of 281 by Patidar helped the team cross the 250-run mark, which was also the highest score ever put up in an IPL playoff game.
RCB Bowlers Further Choke The Titans
The already mammoth score had GT by their neck, with Josh Hazlewood, Jacob Duffy, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar further strangling the GT batters down.
GT openers Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan lost their wickets inside four overs, and it triggered a massive collapse, resulting in the Titans losing five wickets inside the powerplay. By the end of 12 overs, GT were 88 for 8 and had already virtually declared RCB the winners of the contest.
Nevertheless, to keep the formality of the game alive, Rahul Tewatia attempted some resistance with his 43-ball 68, but GT were ultimately bundled out inside 19.3 overs as Royal Challengers Bengaluru dominantly won the game by a huge margin to make their way into the final.
