Soon after, he carried his form into international youth cricket. In the Under-19 World Cup final against England, he played an unforgettable innings of 175 runs. This performance brought him global recognition and established him as a future star.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi remains in limelight
Since then, the young batter from Bihar has remained in the spotlight. He has broken several records and reached major milestones. At just 14 years old, he is already facing high expectations.
With success comes pressure, and now he is expected to perform every time he steps onto the field. This pressure exists both on and off the pitch. As a result, Riyan Parag has come up with some friendly advice.
Riyan Parag’s friendly advice to Vaibhav Suryavanshi
Ahead of the IPL 2026 season, Riyan Parag, the new captain of Rajasthan Royals, shared his thoughts on handling young talent. He has taken over the captaincy from Sanju Samson.
Parag emphasized the need to protect Vaibhav Suryavanshi from too much media attention. He wants the youngster to focus on enjoying the game and growing naturally. The IPL 2026 season is set to begin on March 28, which makes this advice timely.
"As a captain my message to him would be to not do a lot of press conferences or follow a lot of media," Parag told reporters here during a pre-season press conference.
"Let him just enjoy, which I will request you (media) as well. Do not reach out to his manager or anyone; just let him be. He's a 15-16 (14) year-old kid, let him play cricket. He's playing really well and he's going to make the country proud," he added.

Parag also spoke about handling pressure within the team. He mentioned that Suryavanshi will face some expectations. At the same time, he believes that experienced players can take on more responsibility.
He highlighted Yashasvi Jaiswal as someone capable of managing pressure situations. This approach will allow the young batter to play freely and stay confident.
"Of course he will have some pressure coming his way but I am going to tell him that whatever pressure is going to be there, Jaiswal will handle it as he is good enough to handle that role," Parag said.

Looking ahead, Rajasthan Royals will begin their IPL 2026 campaign soon. The team will play its home matches at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati during the early phase of the tournament. Their first match will be against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on March 30.
