David Warner in sunglasses in PSL 2026 (Source: Screengrab from PSL video)
David Warner came to bat wearing sunglasses on Wednesday (April 22) during Match 32 of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026 between Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. However, it all turned out to be a disappointment for the veteran Australian opener, as someone who took Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s wicket for fun got the big fish.
In the middle of PSL 2026, Warner was recently in the news due to a drunk and driving case. He failed miserably since then, losing four matches on the trot while captaining Karachi Kings. And the man who got the wicket of him made Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s life miserable so far in his career. His name is Ali Raza, Pakistan's 18-year-old pace sensation.
Ali Raza Sends David Warner's Stumps Cartwheeling
Ali Raza came to bowl for the first time ahead of the fifth over of Karachi’s innings. He bowled at a rapid pace of 145 kmph, which Warner went for a slog-sweep. The Australian was completely beaten by the pace, and then, the off stump went for a toss.
Warner was completely stunned for a while, as he began to walk off the field slowly with sunglasses on.

Why Ali Raza Is Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's Nemesis?
Ali Raza took the wicket of not once, but multiple times. The Pakistan pacer left India’s wonderkid in shock during the U19 Asia Cup 2024 as well as in the final of the U19 Asia Cup 2025. In fact, back then, Raza and Sooryavanshi had a heated altercation once Sooryavanshi lost his wicket.
Therefore, don’t be surprised if the Raza versus Sooryavanshi clash becomes the most talked-about rivalry in the years to come.
Later, Raza took a hat-trick on the same over, as Khushdil Shah, Shahid Aziz and Hasan Ali lost their wickets in back-to-back deliveries.
How Has David Warner Performed In PSL 2026?
When it comes to the Pakistan Super League, Warner has played only for one franchise: Karachi Kings. His PSL debut happened last year only, when he made 368 runs in 11 innings at a strike rate of 153.97.
This year around, it has been disastrous for Warner, with 104 runs in five matches speaking volumes before the Peshawar match. His knock against Peshwar Zalmi was equally disappointing, having made 11 off just 13 deliveries.
Under David Warner, Karachi Kings got off to an excellent start in PSL 2026. They won three matches on the trot to kick off the proceedings.
After that, some of them took a break due to a gap in the PSL 2026 schedule. During that period, Warner was charged with a drink and drive case in Sydney. And then on, things went south for Warner and his boys, as four defeats in the next four matches took them to the seventh place on the PSL points table.
Only Mohammad Rizwan’s RawalpindiZ have had a poorer season in PSL 2026. They did not have a single win in eight matches.
