Vaibhav Sooryavanshi stormed Rajasthan Royals to an exuberant win over LSG in match number 64 of the IPL 2026 season. Chasing 221 in a must-win game at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, the blistering opener clattered 93 runs off just 38 balls with seven cracking boundaries and 10 scorching sixes.
Sooryavanshi fittingly bagged the ‘Player of the Match’ award for his run chase heroics, and also shattered a couple of huge IPL records with his innings. Notably, the youngster got gate-crashed by a cricketing legend during his post-match interview with the official IPL website.
Justin Langer asks Vaibhav Sooryavanshi for a picture together
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was approached by LSG head coach Justin Langer at a time when the youngster was giving a post-match interview for the IPL official website. The former Australian cricketer even asked the Rajasthan Royals wonderkid for a “photo together”.
An approaching Langer can be heard saying “Can I get a photo together?”, to which Sooryavanshi responded “Yes sir, please.”

The legendary Australian opener smilingly responded that he is going to treasure that photo, and extended his best wishes for the 15-year-old. Justin Langer said “I am going to treasure that photo. Good luck for your career.”
As seen in the video shared by the IPL, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi went on to greet and interact with the ground staff of the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, on the occasion of Rajasthan Royals’ final match of the IPL 2026 season at their home ground.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi shatters huge records with LSG knock
Sooryavanshi blasted 93 runs off just 38 balls against LSG in match 64 of the IPL 2026 season. His match-winning innings also helped him complete 500 runs this season, and is currently sitting on a pile of 579 runs in just 13 innings at an astonishing average of 44.53 and with a staggering strike rate of 236.32.
Through the course of his knock, the prolific left-hander also became the youngster cricketer in IPL history to score 500 runs in a single edition of the tournament, surpassing the previous record set by Rishabh Pant.
He also became the leading six-hitter by any Indian batter in a single IPL season, extending his IPL 2026 tally to 43 maximums.

Batting first, the LSG mounted 220-5 in 20 overs. Mitchell Marsh and Josh Inglis put up a monumental 109-run opening stand in just 8.2 overs, with the latter chipping in with 60 runs off 29 balls. March went on to smear 96 off just 57 balls with 11 boundaries and five sixes.
In response, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi made 93 off 38, and Dhruv Jurel at number three minted 53* off 38 as the Royals blazed past LSG by seven wickets and five balls to spare.
The outcome helped the Rajasthan Royals remain in contention for the IPL 2026 playoffs race. They will now face Mumbai Indians in their final league match of the tournament on May 24 in Mumbai.
