It seems that, finally, the wait for Yash Dayal is over, and he will make a much-awaited comeback to cricket after being out of action for more than a year.
The pacer, who was retained by Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) ahead of IPL 2026, did not play any cricket during the season and remained out of action throughout the year.
Dayal is expected to return in the upcoming UPT20 League. The tournament organisers are planning to hold a mini-auction in mid-July, with Agra and Noida being considered as possible venues.
Why Did Yash Dayal Miss Cricket For More Than A Year?
It is important to mention that Yash Dayal's troubles began in June 2025 when he became involved in multiple legal cases.
The bowler faced serious allegations, including claims of sexual exploitation and another case registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
In July 2025, a woman filed an FIR against him in Ghaziabad. She accused the cricketer of exploiting her emotionally, financially, and sexually. Later, another case was registered in Jaipur, where a woman alleged that Dayal had assaulted her in 2023.

The legal troubles deepened when the Jaipur Special POCSO Court rejected his anticipatory bail plea in December 2025.
Reports suggest that no final verdict has been delivered in the matters. However, Dayal was granted interim bail during the legal process.
Yash Dayal Finally To Make Cricket Comeback!
With the legal proceedings now reportedly settled, Yash Dayal is preparing for a return to domestic cricket.
The Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) has confirmed that it will provide the necessary clearance for him to play in domestic cricket.
UPCA secretary Prem Manohar Gupta stated that the association would issue a No Objection Certificate (NOC), allowing Dayal to participate in cricket again. According to Gupta, the legal matters that had kept the pacer away from the game have been resolved.
"UPCA will give an NOC to Yash Dayal for playing domestic and league cricket because all legal proceedings have been settled," UPCA secretary Prem Manohar Gupta stated after speaking to Times of India.
"We will conduct the UPT20 League mini-auction in mid-July. We are looking at holding it in new cities such as Agra and Noida. We want to promote the league on a larger scale, which is why we are considering these venues. If hotel arrangements are not feasible in Agra or Noida, Lucknow will remain our venue for the mini-auction," UPT20 League Governing Council chairman Sanjay Kapoor said told TOI.
It is vital to note that despite the controversy surrounding him, he was retained by Gorakhpur Lions ahead of the new UPT20 League season.
Did Yash Dayal Play For RCB In IPL 2026?
No, Dayal did not play a single match for RCB during IPL 2026. Although the franchise retained him for ₹5 crore before the season, he remained unavailable throughout the tournament.
Initially, RCB Director of Cricket Mo Bobat said that the player had opted out because of personal reasons.
However, Dayal later said that his decision to stay out of the tournament was not his own. He explained that the decision was taken by the authorities.
