As the Royal Challengers Bengaluru lifted the IPL 2026 trophy after a dominant win against the Gujarat Titans on May 31, RCB's official social media handle issued a final statement regarding the celebrations that fans had been looking forward to after the mammoth victory.

As RCB defended their IPL 2025 title with back-to-back championship wins, a mega celebration was expected.

However, the stampede of June 4, 2025, is still fresh in the minds of cricket lovers. Addressing the celebratory proceedings, RCB posted an official statement on their social media handle.

The Black Day For RCB Fans On June 4, 2025

The stampede was a black day for Royal Challengers Bengaluru fans, as it resulted in 11 deaths and over 50 injuries while the public celebrated RCB's maiden IPL title win outside the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

After the Karnataka State Cricket Association and event managers, DNA Entertainment, organised an official felicitation event at the stadium, it triggered a massive rush among fans.

More than two lakh people descended on the venue, even though Bengaluru Police had denied permission for such a large gathering.

Stampede Leads To Multiple Bans

A huge crowd gathered to celebrate the victory. Fans desperate to get inside the stadium gates for a glimpse of their favourite stars, including Virat Kohli, overwhelmed the entry points, resulting in a deadly crowd surge at multiple gates.

This led to several legal repercussions and investigations. With Bengaluru City Police taking action following the tragedy that occurred a year ago, authorities banned public victory celebrations, roadshows, and open-air match screenings to prevent overcrowding.

Reckless driving and carrying hazardous materials were also prohibited. Although fans were still permitted to enjoy the match indoors, no public roadshows or victory celebrations were planned in Bengaluru or at the Chinnaswamy Stadium this year.

RCB Officially Share Update On Victory Celebrations

Respecting the police instructions and acting responsibly, RCB posted an official statement on X, urging fans to celebrate responsibly and remain indoors instead of gathering recklessly in public places.

The franchise also stated that there would be no celebrations this year and that fans would get the opportunity to see the team again next season. There would be no victory parade, especially in light of the tragedy that occurred last year.

“What a night. What a feeling. To every member of the RCB nation, congratulations. This is YOUR win. As the celebrations begin, let’s be responsible. Best way to celebrate is with your loved ones.

Relive the memories, and enjoy this special moment from the comfort of home. We’ll see you in the stadium next year, 12th Man Army. Until then, spread the joy and keep supporting us,” RCB posted on X.

RCB Dominate At Ahmedabad To Lift Back-To-Back IPL Titles

Nevertheless, RCB secured a record-breaking win over the Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2026 final, winning the match by five wickets. Virat Kohli guided the chase with a 42-ball 75 despite some middle-over pressure created by GT spinner Rashid Khan.

Gujarat Titans managed to post 155 on the board, but it was not enough on the Ahmedabad pitch. Venkatesh Iyer provided early momentum with a quickfire 16-ball 32, and Kohli's relentless drive ensured that RCB completed the chase with 12 balls to spare.
