In a significant development, Punjab Kings are set to hold an urgent meeting on Saturday to discuss the recent issue in IPL 2026, because of players’ vlogging and sharing videos from the dressing room on social media platforms. Notably, Arshdeep Singh will be the centre of these discussions.

For the unversed, the ongoing season of IPL landed in hot water after several players like Riyan Parag and Yuzvendra Chahal were caught vaping in restricted areas. Therefore, the BCCI issued new guidelines recently to maintain the integrity of the league.

Arshdeep Singh To Be Banned From Vlogging

For the unversed, there were reports that PBKS will ask Arshdeep Singh to stop vlogging, so that the secrets of the dressing room doesn’t get leaked on social media. However, so far, no action has been taken up until now. 

The latest report from Cricbuzz stated the franchise will hold an urgent meeting on Saturday, where they will officially ban all players from vlogging and sharing content on social media till the season is over. Arshdeep Singh will be the key topic of discussion as the left-arm seamer has over 6 million followers and is quite active on social media.

The report added that the Punjab Kings will take the signatures of all players and pass a mandate that every piece of content will be posted through the PBKS official handle, and no players will share any content through personal channels.

Punjab Kings will hold a meeting with the players on Saturday evening after practice at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala and obtain their signatures confirming compliance with the new guidelines,” read cricbuzz statement.

BCCI's New Rules For Players In IPL 2026

  • All players and support staff must inform and obtain clearance from the SLO and/or TIO before leaving the team hotel at any hour.
  • Any movement outside the hotel - personal, recreational or otherwise - must be communicated in advance to the Team Manager and SLO.
  • The SLO/TIO will maintain a contemporaneous log of all team movements, which can be inspected by the BCCI Operations Team.

Notably, these rules were brought in place because of various reasons. Firstly, the vaping reason and also the unauthorised movement of strangers in players rooms, risking honeytraps and betting issues.

Possible Actions By BCCI If Players Fail To Adhere To New Rules

Here is the list of actions imposed by the BCCI.

Show-Cause Notice: Issuance of a formal show-cause notice to the Franchise and/or the individual concerned.

Financial Penalties: Imposition of financial penalties on the Franchise or individual, as prescribed under the IPL Regulations.

Suspension or disqualification: Suspension or disqualification of the player, support staff member, or team official from the ongoing or subsequent IPL season(s).

For Legal Violations: In cases involving legal violations, including use of prohibited substances, breach of security protocol, or conduct amounting to harassment, referral of the matter to the appropriate law enforcement authorities.

Other Action: Any other action as the BCCI / IPL Governing Council may deem appropriate in the interest of the tournament and the sport.
