The Pakistan cricket team has announced a 15-member squad for the Zimbabwe tour scheduled to be held from May 12. The Women's National Selection Committee announced the full squad led by skipper Fatima Sana on May 9, three days ahead of the exciting series.

As of now, Pakistan and Zimbabwe are currently battling each other in a three-match ODI series where the hosts are already leading 2-0.

The third and final ODI will be a dead rubber, which will be played in Karachi on May 9. Ahead of the T20I series, Mohsin Naqvi's PCB-guided selection committee announced a strong squad featuring a mix of veterans as well as fresh faces.

Fatima Sana To Lead Strong Pakistan Squad vs Zimbabwe

Under Fatima Sana's trustworthy leadership, the Women in Green will continue to take on Zimbabwe in the T20I series, which will be held at the National Bank Stadium on May 12, May 14 and May 15.

Among the squad, Amber Kainat and Saira Jabeen have earned their maiden call-ups to the national side, while Amber impressed in the National Women's T20 tournament with 11 wickets under her belt, Saira Jabeen was a crucial part of the team's T20I squad during the recent tour of South Africa.

Strengths Of The 15-Member Team

Besides the debutantes, the squad features rising talents like Eyman Fatima, Tuba Hassan, Gull Feroza, and Tasmia Rubab.

As the squad is ready to battle the visitors, Fatima, the skipper, will be playing to her strength as an all-rounder. She is the primary strike bowler for the team and will be a dominant force to suppress Zimbabwe on Pakistan soil.

Muneeba Ali, an experienced veteran and technically a wicketkeeper-batter, will also be there to provide the much-needed stability with the bat at the top of the order, while Nashra Sandhu and Sadia Iqbal will lead the spin attack in the middle-over phase to squeeze the opponents for runs.

Diana Baig Named As A Reserve Player

A surprising move was the presence of veteran pacer Diana Baig in the reserve list, although she has been a mainstay for the Pakistan cricket team for long.

She will not be a core part of the playing XI in the three-match T20I series. She last played a T20I match for the national side back in August 2025 in Dublin against Ireland.

As of now, she finished with figures of 1 for 23 in the ODI match against Zimbabwe Women on May 6 and will likely be rested for the T20I leg of the series to manage her workload.
