Pakistan Women completed a comprehensive 3-0 ODI series sweep over Zimbabwe Women at the National Bank Stadium on Saturday, and Mohsin Naqvi was understandably quick to celebrate. The Pakistan Cricket Board chairman took to X to list a series of records achieved during the whitewash.

Zimbabwe were expected to provide little more than polite resistance so the result itself was hardly a bolt from the blue. But Pakistan piled up records for fun, and gave Naqvi enough ammunition to turn a routine series win into a full-blown statistical parade.

Soon after the win, Naqvi proudly posted the milestones Pakistan achieved during the series.

"Just for record - Pakistan move to No. 2 in ICC Women's Championship 2025-29 points table - Pakistan recorded their best Powerplay score in ODIs - 89-0 - Joint-most century partnerships by a Pakistan Women's opening pair in ODIs - 3 (equalling Muneeba Ali and Sidra Amin)," wrote Naqvi.

The third ODI perfectly summed up how one-sided the contest was. Zimbabwe posted 221 runs, a total that might have looked competitive on paper, but Pakistan chased it down as if they were having an extended batting drill.

The hosts cruised to victory with nine wickets in hand and 109 balls to spare, never allowing the visitors even a sniff of a comeback. Gull Feroza led the charge with an unbeaten 106 off 92 balls as she peppered the boundary rope 16 times and recorded her second successive ODI century.

Sadaf Shamas was equally impressive, falling just short of a hundred after compiling a fluent 90 off 98 deliveries. Their 220-run opening stand left Zimbabwe chasing leather for most of the afternoon.

Pakistan’s opening pair rewrites history

The biggest story of the series was the extraordinary consistency of Pakistan’s opening duo. Feroza and Sadaf accumulated 571 runs together across the three ODIs as they set a new world record for the most runs scored by any pair in a Women’s ODI series.

Feroza became only the second Pakistani woman to score back-to-back ODI centuries and also registered the fastest hundred by a Pakistani woman, reaching the milestone in just 83 balls.

Sadaf, meanwhile, became the first Pakistani batter to register five consecutive fifty-plus scores in Women’s ODIs, which underlined her rich vein of form.

Pakistan were expected to beat Zimbabwe, but the manner in which they steamrolled the visitors and filled up the record books ensured that this was far more than a routine whitewash.

Pakistan do the expected and Naqvi does the boasting

Beating Zimbabwe at home is not exactly the cricketing equivalent of scaling Mount Everest, and no one will be handing out medals for doing what was expected in the first place.

But to Pakistan Women’s credit, they steamrolled the visitors so emphatically that Mohsin Naqvi had enough statistics to turn a simple whitewash into a full-blown trophy parade on social media.

The real examinations will come against stronger opposition, where records are harder to collect and chest-thumping posts are tougher to draft. For now, though, Pakistan Women can happily enjoy the clean sweep, while Naqvi can keep polishing those numbers as if they were silverware.
