Pakistan Team Owner Reacts To Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's Mayhem vs SRH

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi once again proved why he is the most talked-about player in the IPL 2026. He played a breathtaking knock against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Eliminator match on Wednesday (May 27).

The 15-year-old Rajasthan Royals opener smashed an unbelievable 97 runs off just 29 balls and guided his team to a dominant 47-run victory in New Chandigarh.

Sooryavanshi attacked the Hyderabad bowlers from the very beginning and looked set to break Chris Gayle's record for the fastest century in IPL history. However, he missed the landmark by just three runs after getting dismissed on 97.

The young batter’s innings included 12 huge sixes and four boundaries as Rajasthan Royals posted a massive total of 243 in 20 overs.

In reply, Sunrisers Hyderabad were bowled out for 196 in 19.2 overs. With this victory, Rajasthan Royals entered Qualifier 2, where they will now face Gujarat Titans.

Sooryavanshi completely dominated the SRH vs RR match with his aggressive batting. He took apart Hyderabad's bowling attack and gave Rajasthan Royals the perfect platform to post a huge score.

Apart from Sooryavanshi, Dhruv Jurel also played an important role with a quick 50 off 21 balls. However, the night belonged to the teenage superstar.

During Hyderabad's chase, Rajasthan bowlers also delivered with Jofra Archer taking crucial wickets of Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head and Ishan Kishan early in the innings.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi became the uncapped player with the most runs in a single IPL season, going past Yashasvi Jaiswal's previous record of 626 runs.
Sooryavanshi equalled Chris Gayle's record of four IPL innings with 10 or more sixes.
He now holds the record for the most sixes in an IPL season with 65 sixes, surpassing Gayle's previous record of 59.
His 65 sixes are also the highest by any player in a T20 tournament or series.
The 15-year-old became the first teenager to score 600 runs in any T20 tournament.
His 12 sixes against Hyderabad are the most by a player in an IPL playoff innings.
He also set the record for most sixes in the IPL powerplay, hitting eight sixes in the first six overs.

Pakistan owner praises Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's Knock

Sooryavanshi's stunning innings earned praise from all over the cricket world, including Pakistan.

Former Multan Sultans co-owner Ali Khan Tareen reacted to the teenager's incredible numbers on social media. English journalist Will Macpherson had posted that Sooryavanshi broke Chris Gayle’s six-hitting record at just 15 years of age.

Reacting to the post, Ali Khan Tareen simply wrote, "Insane stat."

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has hit eight sixes in his first 16 balls of the IPL eliminator. He has broken Chris Gayle's record for the most sixes in an IPL season, 59, set in 2012. Sooryavanshi is 15, and has 61 sixes in 267 balls this season

Sooryavanshi has enjoyed a dream IPL 2026 season with Rajasthan Royals. In 15 innings, he has scored 680 runs at a stunning strike rate of 242.85.

He will next be seen in action when Rajasthan Royals face Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 2 on May 29 in New Chandigarh. Fans will once again hope for another magical innings from the young player.
