The IPL 2026 Eliminator will be played between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Ground in New Chandigarh on Wednesday, May 27.
With a place in Qualifier 2 at stake, both teams will be eager to keep their title hopes alive in a thrilling knockout clash. Along with the excitement surrounding the SRH vs RR match, the focus will also be on the weather conditions in Chandigarh.
SRH's and RR journey so far in IPL 2026
SRH enjoyed an impressive league campaign and finished third on the IPL 2026 points table. The 'Orange Army' won nine of their 14 league-stage matches and lost five. They finished level on points with RCB and Gujarat Titans, but NRR separated the three sides.
The Hyderabad-based franchise will be aiming to reach their second IPL final in the last three years and win their first IPL trophy since 2016.

Rajasthan Royals, meanwhile, secured the fourth and final playoff spot on the last day of the league stage. RR won eight matches and suffered six defeats during the season.
The Royals are still searching for their second IPL title, having won the inaugural edition in 2008.
Now, with excitement at peak level for the much-awaited SRH vs RR match, let's take a look at the Chandigarh weather forecast and which team (SRH or RR) will qualify for Qualifier 2 if the match is washed out due to rain.
What happens if the SRH vs RR IPL 2026 Eliminator is washed out?
If rain interrupts the SRH vs RR IPL 2026 Eliminator, the match may start late, or overs may be shortened, depending on the weather. In case overs are lost, the DLS method will be used to calculate revised targets.
It is important to note that there are no reserve days for the IPL 2026 Eliminator and Qualifier matches.
This means that if the match between SRH and RR is completely washed out without even a single ball being bowled, the team that finished higher in the league standings will automatically qualify for the next round.
Since Sunrisers Hyderabad finished third on the points table and Rajasthan Royals finished fourth, SRH would advance to Qualifier 2 if the match is abandoned due to rain.
