In a dramatic development, it has been understood that the Pakistan players are going to be banned from a T20 league other than the IPL. Notably, the BCCI prohibited the entry of Pakistani players to the IPL following the barbaric Mumbai terror attack, which was sponsored by Pakistan-based terror organisations.

Despite missing the IPL, the Pakistani cricketers actively participate in several lucrative T20 leagues, most notably the BBL, CPL, BPL, The Hundred, LPL, MLC, ILT20 and Global T20. However, if reports are to be believed, the players from Pakistan are soon going to be banned from one of these T20 tournaments.

Which T20 league will Pakistan players be banned from?

According to an exclusive report by PakPassion, the US-based Major League Cricket (MLC) is set to follow the footsteps of the IPL and impose a ban on Pakistani players.

It's worth mentioning that although the Pakistani players can't register in the IPL auction, they remain an integral part of the MLC. Haris Rauf is currently representing the San Francisco Unicorns; however, this could well be the final season for the speedster, with the MLC planning to restrict Pakistani cricketers from the competition.

Why could Pakistan players be banned from the MLC?

The involvement of Pakistan in the Mumbai terror attack was the reason why the BCCI boycotted Pakistani players in the IPL. However, the reason is quite different in the case of MLC, where the PCB's bizarre demands have irked the franchises.

According to an exclusive report by PakPassion, the PCB has developed a tendency to deliberately stretch the process of allotting No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to its contracted players for the MLC.

The report states that the Mohsin Naqvi-led body demands a massive $25,000 per player fee to issue NOCs for the US-based competition.

While it remains dormant throughout the year, the Pakistani board tries to exploit the franchises in the eleventh hour. The MLC franchises have been irritated by the PCB's behaviour, apparently deciding against signing any of its contracted players going forward.

"It's more the extortion the PCB does. Basically, through the year, they won't say anything. And then right towards the start of the tournament, when they have to give their NOCs, they send an email saying that for the NOC, it will be $25,000 for each player," a source told PakPassion.

"There were four Pakistani players for one of the teams, but, the PCB forgot about the fourth player and asked for three payments of $25,000. They, then extorted another $25,000 for the fourth player for an NOC just a few hours before a match was to be played. That team was wiring the money to the PCB and asking for the NOC. The PCB stated don't worry about the NOC, if your money comes and hits our bank account before the first ball is bowled, we'll take care of the NOC for you," the source added.

Additionally, the PCB has the authority to take a U-turn and withdraw its contracted players at any time during the tournament. The MLC franchises have been fed up with the process, even approaching Mohsin Naqvi without much success.

This is the reason why the MLC franchises have reportedly made up their minds not to sign Pakistani players moving forward.

Pakistani players to be restricted to PSL, BPL and LPL?

Given that the Pakistani cricketers no longer play the IPL, and most of the IPL franchises have invested in the CPL, the Hundred, the SA20 and the ILT20, they might be restricted only to the PSL, BPL and LPL.

In fact, Cricket Australia is also searching for private investors for the growth of the BBL, and chances are high that the IPL franchises could mark their presence in the Australian league as well. So, if the MLC franchises hesitate to pick the PCB-contracted players, it'll be a huge setback for Pakistan's white-ball specialists, who are exploring opportunities across the globe.
