Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana is back in the news, but this time, it's for her personal life. Just last year, she called off her wedding with musician and producer Palash Muchhal in a dramatic fashion.

Palash and Smriti were supposed to get married in Sangli in November 2025. However, despite completing all the pre-wedding festivities, the wedding was called off at the last hour.

Meanwhile, months after the high-profile wedding was called off, the cricketer’s father, Shrinivas, was seen interacting warmly with Palash Muchhal’s sister, Palak Muchhal, and family.

A moment where Palak touches Mandhana’s father’s feet (a traditional gesture of respect) has been widely circulated and interpreted as a sign of renewed ties between the families.

However, according to TOI reporter Gautav Gupta, Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal are not getting back together anytime soon. The duo have reportedly moved on in their lives, and there is no room for reconciliation.

While Smriti and Palash are not on good terms, the families seem to have reconnected out of mutual respect. Palak and family spending time with Shrinivas Mandhana was merely a coincidental and cordial meetup.

Why did Smriti call off her wedding with Palash?

For context, Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal were set to marry on November 23, 2025. However, the wedding was abruptly called off just a day before, even when the pre-wedding functions had already begun.

Initially, Smriti’s team said that her father, Shrinivas, had to be hospitalised, and hence the wedding was postponed.

However, social media threw up wild theories, suggesting Palash had cheated, and hence Smriti Mandhana took the bold call to end the marriage.

Eventually, both sides confirmed on social media that their relationship has come to an end and no wedding will take place anymore.

Who is Palash Muchhal?

Before dating Smriti Mandhana, Palash Muchhal was best known for his work as a movie director and musician. He composed songs for Bollywood films like Dishkiyaoon and Bhootnath Returns.

Later, he stepped into movie direction. He made ‘Ardh’ and is currently working on a different project. 

Interestingly, Palash Muchhal also comes from an influential family. His sibling Palak Muchhal and brother-in-law Mithoon are also popular singers. 

However, all the goodwill that he earned from his professional life vanished overnight after his public breakup with India cricketer Smriti Mandhana.

The duo dated for over five years and had the most amazing relationship that the fans adored on social media.

However, the unexpected breakup left fans confused and led to endless speculations that left both Smriti and Palash heartbroken.

Regardless, their relationship is in the past now, and both individuals seem to have moved on.
