Cameron Green has been facing a lot of criticism for his underwhelming start to IPL 2026. The star all-rounder, who is the highest-paid overseas cricketer in the history of league, is burdened by his price-tag.

So far, the 26-year-old has scored just 24 runs in three matches. More than that, Cameron Green has been in the news for his unavailability with the ball. For the unversed, the all-rounder is prohibited by CA from bowling.

Cricket Australia Bars Cameron Green From Bowling In IPL 2026

Cameron Green recently recovered from an injury and Cricket Australia barred the all-rounder from bowling in the IPL 2026 for the first few games. The reveleation was made when KKR skipper told reporters to ask CA about update on Green's bowling.

"Cameron has a lower-back injury, which is being managed, but requires him to abstain from bowling for a short period. Cameron is currently rebuilding his bowling loads in India with a view to return in around 10-12 days' time," CA had said at the time.

KKR are winless so far with two defeats and a washed-out game. The three-time winners are missing Green's services with the ball. The wait seems to be over now for the Ajinkya Rahane-led side as Cameron Green has been cleared to bowl in the latest events.

It is a heartwarming news for the KKR fans, but its still unclear whether Cameron Green will bowl his quota of overs or not. Nonetheless, the 26-year-old has resumed bowling in the nets and looks in great shape as revealed by Tim Southee, bowling coach of KKR.

"Yeah, Green's been bowling well, tracking his rehab and getting himself back to being able to bowl in games. He'll continue to do that," Tim Southee said.

KKR's Bowling A Big Concern For IPL 2026

Even before the start of IPL 2026, KKR dealt multiple blows. Mustafizur Rahman was asked to be released from the squad due to India's geopolitical tensions with Bangladesh. Further, Matheesha Pathirana is currently in Sri Lanka, recovering from an injury.

Harshit Rana got ruled out of the tournament due to knee inury, leaving KKR with limited pace options. Amid this, Green not bowling was a big blow to the three-time winners. Now, Rahane and his men will be pleased to have the license to utilise the 26-year-old as a proper all-rounder.

Apart from the seamers, Sunil Narine missed the last game due to illness while Varun Chakaravarthy is struggling and is wicketless so far in the tournament.
