After shambolic results in the UK, India are set to undergo massive changes to their coaching staff, including assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate.
It has been understood that the former Netherlands all-rounder won't be a part of the Gautam Gambhir-led coaching staff after the conclusion of the ongoing ODI series vs England.
Notably, ten Doeschate and Morne Morkel were hired by the BCCI, along with Gambhir, on the head coach's recommendation.
Gautam Gambhir linked to Ryan ten Doeschate's departure
As Ryan ten Doeschate's stint is coming to an end, an interesting development has come to the surface. The former KKR fielding coach himself wants to call it quits, as his promises were fulfilled by the head coach, Gautam Gambhir.
As reported by PTI, the assistant coach joined Team India after being promised the job of a specialist fielding coach, but the BCCI never relieved T Dilip of his duties and apparently will continue to do so.

"You have Sitanshu Kotak as the batting coach, and there's Gauti (Gambhir) himself to look after the batters. Morne (Morkel) is in charge of pacers, and Sairaj (Bahutule) looks after the spinners. When Tendo (his nickname) was brought on board, he was promised the fielding coach's job," a senior BCCI source told PTI on conditions of anonymity.
Ryan ten Doeschate's experience in coaching
If reports are to be believed, Ryan ten Doeschate, who featured in 29 matches for KKR, is already in talks with a couple of IPL teams as the Dutch is looking for a switch.
Born in South Africa, the all-rounder played international cricket for Netherlands and established himself as one of the finest cricketers coming from an associate nation.
He represented the Dutch in 33 ODIs and 24 T20Is, racking up over 2000 runs and scalping 68 wickets. Moreover, he was honoured the ICC Associate Player of the Year twice.
Ten Doeschate's IPL links helped him bag a contact with Kolkata to be their fielding coach under the Gautam Gambhir regime. However, he also served as the batting coach of Kent county team in 2022. Additionally, the former KKR all-rounder also coached teams like Abu Dhabi Knight Riders, in the ILT20, and the LA Knight Riders (MLC) during 2023-24.
Will India give Ryan ten Doeschate a grand farewell?
When it comes to his coaching methods, Ryan ten Doeschate is regarded as one of the sharpest and most respected coaches in the world. His man-management skill set is said to be his finest suit.
During his two-year-long tenure with Team India, the 46-year-old has worked closely with Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill and KL Rahul. Notably, he was repeatedly seen putting in the hard yards with Kohli in London, in the buildup to many big series or tours.
Nevertheless, if it is ten Doeschate's last week with the Men in Blue, the Shubman Gill-led side will look to give the respected coach a grand farewell and finish off the UK tour on a high.
After losing the T20Is vs England, India made a sensational comeback in the first ODI at Edgbaston to win it by six wickets. The IND vs ENG 2nd ODI is scheduled on Thursday at Cardiff.
