Delhi Capitals Women steamrolled hitherto unbeaten RCB to jump back into the WPL 2026 playoffs race. Nandani Sharma and legendary South African all-rounder Marizanne Kapp catalyzed Delhi Capitals’ comprehensive win to boost their NRR in the second half of the tournament.
Here, we take a look at the entire highlights from the 15th match of the WPL 2026 season between RCB Women and Delhi Capitals Women, as it panned out at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara on Sunday, January 24.
Nandani Sharma, Marizanne Kapp skittle RCB for 109
Getting invited to bat first, RCB lost opener Grace Harris for just nine off 13 balls in the final over of the powerplay. Delhi Capitals’ South Africa import Marizanne Kapp struck the opening blow for her team, before RCB skipper Smriti Mandhana notched up another 26-run partnership with number three Georgia Voll.
Racing to 38 off 34 balls with six boundaries and a six, a well-set Mandhana eventually lost her concentration and failed to make the most of her start by mistiming one off Minnu Mani at 62-2. Kapp knocked over Voll a couple of overs later for 11 from 14 balls as the Capitals stormed back into the game.
Gautami Naik (3 off 7) and wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh (5 off 9) both fell for single-digit scores courtesy of Shree Charani and Mani respectively as the RCB Women’s team crashed from 62-1 to 78-5 in the space of just four overs.
While Radha Yadav chipped in with a handy 17-ball 18, RCB’s troubles took a turn for the worse as another collapse ensured they folded up for just 109 all out from 94-5 at one stage.
For the Capitals, Nandani Sharma picked up sensational figures of 3-26, all during the slog overs, while her teammates Chinelle Henry (2-22), Marizanne Kapp (2-17) and Minnu Mani (2-18) chipped in with two wickets apiece.
Laura Wolvaardt ensures hiccup-less chase for Delhi Capitals
Chasing a paltry 110-run target, Delhi Capitals Women lost both openers inside the first four overs of the innings. RCB’s new ball quick Sayali Satghare (2-18) accounted for Shafali Verma (16 off 8) and Lizelle Lee (6 off 8) in successive overs as the Capitals slipped to 24-2 at one stage.
However, Laura Wolvaardt at number three anchored the remainder of the Delhi Capitals innings with an elegant 42*. Facing 38 deliveries in the process, the vintage South African belted four boundaries and a six and crafted a match-defining 52-run partnership with captain Jemimah Rodrigues.
While Rodrigues was dismissed by Radha Yadav (1-10) for a near run-a-ball 24 at the brink of the finishing line, Wolvaardt notched up the winning runs for the Delhi Capitals alongside fellow South African Marizanne Kapp with an unbeaten 35-run partnership for the fourth wicket.
Kapp herself struck three boundaries in her 15-ball 19 as the Capitals recorded their third win of the WPL 2026 season to jump to the number two spot on the five-team points table.
