Nandani Sharma Profile, Career & Stats

Born in Chandigarh, Nandani Sharma is a talented right-arm fast bowler who plays for the Indian women’s team and Delhi Capitals in the Women’s Premier League. Born in 2001, she represented Chandigarh in domestic competitions and was also quite impressive in inter-zonal matches for the North Zone Women.

Nandani first came into the limelight after her famous hat-trick in the WPL 2026. Playing only her second match of the WPL, Nandani was used as a first-change bowler by DC on the night. She first struck in her second over, the 11th of the innings, to deny Sophie Devine a century.

Nandani was then handed the ball for the final over of the innings and picked up four wickets in five balls, including the hat-trick. She first had Kashvee Gautam caught at long-on before dismissing Kanika Ahuja (stumped by Beth Mooney), Rajeshwari Gayakwad and Renuka (both bowled) to complete the treble. In the process, she became the first Indian fast bowler to pick up a five-for in the WPL.

The DC pacer barely missed out on winning the Purple Cap that season, despite finishing as the joint highest wicket-taker with 17 wickets. Nandani Sharma took more matches to reach the milestone than Sophie Devine, who was awarded the cap. Devine achieved the tally in 9 matches compared to Nandani's 10.

Thanks to the exploits in her maiden WPL season, Nandani Sharma, the 24-year-old pacer, earned her maiden call-up to the national team after being included in India's 15-player squad for the upcoming 2026 ICC Women's T20 World Cup, played in England.
