The RCB Women’s team folded up for just 109 in 20 overs against Delhi Capitals in match number 15 of the WPL 2026 season. Batting first at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara, captain and prolific opener Smriti Mandhana herself compiled 38 of those runs from 34 balls at the top of the order.

With Mandhana chipping in with over a third of RCB’s total, the next best batting effort of the innings was punched out by Radha Yadav through her mere 18-run knock from 17 balls. Notably, the RCB Women’s team also stooped to a new record WPL low through the course of their latest batting debacle against the Capitals.

RCB record lowest total in WPL

The RCB Women’s franchise recorded its lowest-ever team total in a completed innings in their WPL history. By capitulating for just 109 in 20 overs, the Smriti Mandhana-led side surpassed their WPL 2023 effort against Mumbai Indians, where they conjured just a paltry 125-9 in 20 overs at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.

Notably, the RCB Women’s team lost its 2023 match by a comprehensive four-wicket margin to Mumbai Indians at the time. In light of RCB’s latest batting debacle, here is a look at five of their lowest team totals in the history of WPL.

Lowest totals by RCB Women in WPL history:

  • RCB 109 all out vs Delhi Capitals, WPL 2026
  • RCB 125-9 vs Mumbai Indians, WPL 2023
  • RCB 125-7 vs Gujarat Giants, WPL 2025
  • RCB 131-6 vs Mumbai Indians, WPL 2024
  • RCB 135-6 vs Mumbai Indians, WPL 2024

RCB’s 109-run capitulation against Delhi Capitals Women on Saturday, January 24 also marked the ninth lowest total in the history of the WPL overall.

Back in 2023 during the inaugural edition of the tournament, the Gujarat Giants franchise folded up for just 64 in a match against Mumbai Indians Women at the DY Patil Stadium. The total continues to remain WPL’s worst-ever team batting performance, and the only instance of a team getting bowled out for a total below 100.

RCB Women’s five-day break in WPL 2026 backfires for team

The RCB Women’s team recorded five wins in a row in their first five matches to become the first side to qualify for the WPL 2026 playoffs. Under the leadership of Smriti Mandhana, RCB entered its sixth match against Delhi Capitals being the only unbeaten side of the season.

However, a five-day break in between seems to have backfired for the RCB Women’s team, considering they stooped to their lowest-ever total in the four-year history of the tournament.

RCB vs Delhi Capitals: The story so far

Being invited to bat first, RCB charted just 109 runs in 20 overs despite being comfortably placed at 62-1 around the halfway stage of the innings. However, the wicket of well-set opener Smriti Mandhana for 38 courtesy of Minnu Mani triggered a colossal batting collapse within the RCB camp.

Delhi Capitals’ Nandani Sharma unfurled the spell of the innings with figures of 3-26, while her teammates Chinelle Henry (2-22), Marizanne Kapp (2-17) and Minnu Mani (2-18) all chipped in with two wickets apiece.
