A verbal clash between Pakistan's Mohammad Rizwan and Bangladesh's Litton Das became one of the biggest talking points of the 2nd Test in Sylhet. Emotions ran high during Pakistan's difficult run chase on Day 4, and an intense argument took place between the star players.
It is important to note that the argument began during the 72nd over of Pakistan’s second innings, when Mohammad Rizwan stopped play while facing spinner Taijul Islam.
What happened between Mohammad Rizwan and Litton Das?
Mohammad Rizwan appeared unhappy with the movement near the sightscreen at the pavilion end and complained to the on-field umpire.
As Rizwan pointed to the sightscreen and spoke to the umpire, Litton Das questioned why the batter was taking so long to face the ball.
As recorded in the stump mic, Litton said, - "What are you doing? Why are you looking over there? Focus on your batting here."

Rizwan responded, asking, "Is that your job, mine, or the umpire's?"
Although the umpire tried to calm the situation, the exchange only became more intense as several Bangladesh fielders joined in.
Litton Das then mocked Rizwan and stated, "Thora run karliya, ab acting chalu hojayega," suggesting that Rizwan had started 'acting' after reaching his half-century.
Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto added humour to the moment with a famous one-liner saying, "Zyada acting, zyada acting! Yeh overacting ke liye pachaas paisa katega pachaas!"
It is vital to note that the rivalry between Rizwan and Litton began during the first Test in Mirpur.

Mohammad Rizwan called 'Frustrating' after Litton Das incident
After the match, the current Bangladesh spin-bowling coach Mushtaq Ahmed revealed that he personally spoke with both players to settle the matter.
“At the breakfast table, I spoke to Rizwan and Litton Das and resolved the issue between them. They have no problem with each other,” Mushtaq stated.
The former spinner also made a massive and bold comment on Rizwan's behaviour. He stated that the Pakistan batter often uses mind games deliberately to unsettle opponents.
“Rizwan can be frustrating at times, but I believe he does it intentionally as a strategy. He knowingly does certain things to frustrate opponents so they come out of their bubble, drift away from their game plan, and lose focus,” he observed.
Mushtaq also mentioned that he advised Litton not to cross the line during verbal exchanges.
Bangladesh outplays Pakistan in the Test series
Despite Rizwan’s fighting half-century in the second innings, Pakistan failed to chase the target in Sylhet as Bangladesh produced another disciplined bowling performance to secure a 78-run victory.
In the first Test, Bangladesh won the match by 104 runs.
With the win, Bangladesh completed a historic 2-0 home Test series sweep against Pakistan. It was also Bangladesh’s second straight Test series whitewash over Pakistan after their memorable 2-0 triumph in Pakistan in 2024.
