Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will clash with Gujarat Titans (GT) in their final IPL 2026 league stage match on May 21, 2026, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, and CSK players have been warned by GT’s Rashid Khan against using any notes.
This comes after several of the players have used notes and chits to share a message with the crowd and with their loved ones after achieving a milestone or taking a wicket. This trend started with Abhishek Sharma, who showed a chit after scoring a century this season.
Several other players display chits after standout performances
Raghu Sharma, Urvil Patel, and Akash Singh have done the same. Raghu Sharma, who played a handful of games for the Mumbai Indians, showed a note with ‘Jai Shri Ram’ after taking his maiden IPL wicket for MI, against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on May 4.
Then Chennai Super Kings batter Urvil Patel followed the trend and showed a note, dedicating his brilliant knock against LSG to his father. Urvil equaled the record for fastest fifty in the IPL, in 13 balls. And the latest one was LSG pacer Akash Singh, who showed a note with a motivating message on it, after his three-wicket haul against the CSK on May 15.
Recently, Deepak Chahar had mocked this note showing a trend in IPL 2026 during Mumbai Indians’ match against Kolkata Knight Riders on May 20. It happened after Chahar dismissed the KKR opener Finn Allen for just 6 runs. Chahar stopped the MI players in their tracks and pretended to bring out a note from his pocket and show it to the cameras in celebration.
