On Tuesday, Bangladesh got a moment to cherish after the Najmul Shanto-led side handed Pakistan a 104-run defeat to lead the two-match Test series 1-0. Notably, with the win, Bangladesh have extended their winning run against the Shan Masood-led side to three matches.

The last time these two teams met was in 2024 when Bangladesh handed Pakistan a 2-0 defeat in the Test series. It has been a period of embarrassment for Pakistan and its players. Amid the shame, Mohammad Rizwan was at the centre of heavy sledging, where Litton Das showed no mercy, nor did he mince his words for the former Pakistan test captain.

Talking about the match, neither of the two teams were clear favourite to win the 1st Test. After four days of intense action, it all came down to the last day, where Pakistan were asked to chase down 268 runs. However, the Shan Masood-led side lost wickets at regular intervals and were reduced to 152/6 at one point.

Mohammad Rizwan was the only hope for the team as the former skipper was batting on 15 (45) and Pakistan required 116 more runs to win. Bangladesh too knew that they if they got Rizwan out, the match would be done and dusted.

At that moment, Litton Das, who was behind the wickets, started sledging Mohammad Rizwan and made a few remarks, which have now gone viral on social media.

“Rizwan’s reputation is really bad back in Pakistan. If he gets out trying to hit a big shot, he won't even be able to set foot back in the country-his reputation is that bad,” remarked Litton Das as captured on video.

Why Is Mohammad Rizwan Getting A Lot Of Hate In Pakistan?

Mohammad Rizwan has had a massive dip in form in the past few years. The right-handed batter has lost his captaincy and is now sweating hard over his place in the team across formats.

If we look at his stats across formats since 2023, then his average has dropped from 62.47 to just 26.40, which is concerning for the PCB. Rizwan has been kicked out of the T20I team and is now only active in Tests and ODIs.

Shedding light on his numbers in  1st Test vs Bangladesh, Rizwan played well in the first innings and scored 59 (79). However, he failed with the bat when it mattered the most.

Pakistan Boosted By Babar Azam's Return For 2nd Test

After the defeat in the 1st Test, Pakistan and Bangladesh will lock horns for the 2nd Test on May 16 in Sylhet. Ahead of the upcoming game, the Shan Masood-led side have been bosted by the return of Babar Azam.

For the unversed, Babar Azam missed the first Test due to a knee injury. However, the right-handed batter has been declared fit and is well on track to return to the playing XI for 2nd and last Test of the series. It is to be seen whether Mohammad Rizwan will lose his place in the team.
