Pakistan veteran Mohammad Amir has been pretty vocal with India’s bout for the T20 World Cup 2026. However, almost all of them have fallen flat on their faces since his earliest claims of ‘India not reaching the Semi-Finals.’ With all predictions gone wrong, Amir is now nothing more than a wounded tiger.

After India’s win, Mohammad Amir has now been expressive on an angle that is not pleasant at all. Although Pakistani experts and cricketers have always been blaming ‘match-fixing’ for almost all of their counterparts’ wins, Amir’s revelation now adds a whole new layer to the credit-sabotaging game, courtesy of New Zealand.

Amir And His Earlier Predictions

Mohammad Amir has been making a series of bold predictions about India's loss during this whole ordeal of the T20 World Cup. Before the Super 8 stage, Amir predicted that India would not qualify for the semi-finals, while claiming that South Africa and West Indies played better cricket and deserved to win, leading India towards an exit path.

This prediction failed after India won a do-or-die clash against the Caribbeans at Eden Gardens to seal their semi-finals spot.

Notably, this India versus West Indies clash was also predicted by Amir to be lost by the Men in Blue.

Amir's third prediction was that India was going to lose the semi-final against the England, which India once again proved wrong with a mammoth total of 250-plus, leading them to a dominant position where Jacob Bethell with his valiant century couldn't deal enough damage late down the order, handing India a seven-run win.

Amir's last and final prediction was that India would definitely lose against the New Zealand in the T20 World Cup final in Ahmedabad, where all of Amir's predictions fell flat with the wrong context and incorrect outcomes.

With his predictions going wrong, Amir has now started a new blame game where he thinks that India won the match through match-fixing.

Mohammad Amir Calls T20 World Cup 2026 Final Match Fixing

Speaking after the India vs New Zealand clash, Amir said that though players like Abhishek Sharma played well, the credit would go to Kiwi's bowling since they were giving away extra runs and were getting hit for sixes very frequently.

He also questioned the bowling strategy of the Kiwis, explaining that he was shocked to see such experiments in a final.

“Abhishek Sharma played well today, but credit also goes to New Zealand’s bowling. They were bowling wides and then getting hit for sixes from the same deliveries.

It was strange bowling, honestly. Santner first gave the over to Henry, then to Phillips, and then completely changed the plan. I didn’t understand it. I have never seen New Zealand under this much pressure in my life,” Amir said.

Upset Amir Credits Batters For Dominating Tournament

Mohammad Amir was visibly upset after India's win as well. During the show Harna Maana Hai, Amir was asked what he intended to say after all his predictions went wrong, to which Amir said, "It's okay that India have won, no problem. They will take the trophy home. They are not coming to give it to me, right? So, well done, well played."

Speaking about the batters, Amir added that this time bowlers did not win India the tournament, but batters like Sanju Samson did with his massive scores in crucial games like the West Indies Super 8 clash, the semi-final against England, and once again an 89-run knock in the final at Ahmedabad.

"India has ended a myth that fast bowlers win tournaments, batsmen can win them too. India has proven it. Credit goes to India for this,” Mohammad Amir said.

India Bag One-Sided Victory Against New Zealand

India have now won their third ICC title in a row, creating a historic landmark in their trophy cabinet. India romped through the visitors' bowling attack as Sanju Samson, Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan, and Shivam Dube helped the team post 255 runs on the board.

New Zealand, in reply, saw Finn Allen, Rachin Ravindra, Glenn Phillips, and Mark Chapman fall like a house of cards, with only Mitchell Santner putting up some resistance with his 35-ball 43.

Courtesy of Jasprit Bumrah and Axar Patel, India wrapped up the game early inside 19 overs, bundling the Kiwis out for 159 runs and winning the match by 96 runs to take the trophy home.
