The Bangladesh cricket team did not just arrive in Australia to fight. Apparently, they are ‘Down Under’ to grab the bull by the horns.
Taking on the mighty Australians on their home turf, Najmul Hossain Shanto and co. pulled off a near-impossible feat by taking a 1-0 lead in the two-match Test series. In the aftermath of Bangladesh’s historic victory, a particular Day 3 footage surfaced online, indicating that the visitors are not in the mood to allow Australia to dictate terms.
The footage in question offers a glimpse of a heated exchange between Litton Das and Steve Smith, with the two appearing to exchange words as tensions briefly threatened to boil over on the field.
Steve Smith and Litton Das spark tense exchange
On Day 3 of the first Test between Australia and Bangladesh at the Marrara Oval in Darwin, Steve Smith attempted to work a Taijul Islam delivery down the leg side only to miss it completely.
Bangladesh stumper Litton Das grabbed the ball and appealed for a caught-behind, with the on-field umpire turning it down.

On-strike Smith then cheekily asked Litton to go for the review. The Bangladesh wicketkeeper fired back as the two cricketers had an intense face-off in the middle.
Both Steve Smith and Litton Das were heard saying:
Smith: “Use it (DRS). Go on. Do it. Go on, use it. Waste another one (review). Do what you want. Do your thing.”
Das: “You bat. You just bat.”
Smith: “I’m batting.”
Das: “Just bat.”
Smith: “Nah, I’ll do what I want. I can do what I want.”
The exchange continued for a few moments before both Steve Smith and Litton Das eventually returned their focus to the game, bringing the brief confrontation to an end.
When Litton Das had a go at Mohammad Rizwan
Interestingly, Steve Smith was not the first rival cricketer to find himself on the receiving end of Litton Das’ fiery temperament. Just a couple of months ago in Bangladesh, the explosive wicketkeeper-batter had a go at his Pakistani counterpart Mohammad Rizwan.
Standing behind the stumps, Litton trolled Rizwan by saying that the cricketer cannot fly back to Pakistan if he gets out playing a bad shot.
Much like the Marrara Oval triumph, the Bangladesh cricket team also crushed Pakistan at home to secure its two-match Test series 2-0.
Najmul Hossain Shanto shuts up Australia after getting trolled by media
It appears that Litton Das is not the only Bangladesh cricketer who has arrived in Australia ready to fight fire with fire. Several Bangladesh players appeared fired up and full of energy for the entirety of their series-opening first Test in Darwin.
Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto, meanwhile, may have dropped the biggest nuke on the Australians without uttering a single word out of line.
Just a day prior to the Test, the visiting skipper was seemingly insulted by the local media, with one personnel asking him if Bangladesh can survive even three days of Australian onslaught.
Leading his side to an emphatic nine-wicket win and a 1-0 lead in the two-match Test series, it is safe to assume that captain Shanto had the last laugh in Darwin.
