Babar Azam’s Fresh Visual Out 2 Days Before 1st England Test

The Pakistan Cricket Team is sweating hard in Leeds ahead of the three-match Test series against England. The Babar Azam-led side will lock horns for the 1st Test on Wednesday. The preparations took a drastic hit after skipper Babar Azam injured himself during the practice match against Professional County Club Select XI.

The injury occurred on Friday when Babar  was hit on his finger while batting and left the field in pain. On Day 2 of the warm-up match, the 31-year-old got hit on his hand by a nasty half-pitched delivery. The ball took the Pakistan captain by surprise, and the bat flew out of his hand. The 31-year-old was in deep pain and was quickly attended to by the physios.

Eventually, the management didn’t waste time, and Babar retired hurt and returned to the pavilion for further assessment.

Babar Azam Joins Pakistan Team; Looks In Great Spirits

In the latest events, Babar Azam has rejoined the Pakistan camp and looked in high spirits. The right-handed batter seemed fit and helped Mohammad Rizwan in the training session. 

In the clip that has now gone viral on social media, the Pakistan captain was seen hitting the ball with a tennis racquet, hinting that his injured finger has fully recovered.

Babar Azam Declared Fit For 1st Test vs England

There were doubts over Babar Azam’s participation because he reinjured the same finger he got hit on during the West Indies series. For the unversed, Azam was hit on the same hand recently when Pakistan visited the West Indies for a two-match Test series.

Hours after the injury, PCB issued a press release where they confirmed that Babar Azam was pulled out of the practice match as a precaution. The press release added that the Pakistan captain will return to the practice session on Monday.

Shan Masood Continues To Train With Uncertainty On Future

While Babar has recovered, there is still a doubt over Shan Masood's fitness. The left-handed batter suffered a fractured finger during West Indies tour and was doubtful for the upcoming England series.

In the latest events, Pakitan's training session was also attended by Shan Masood, who is still wearing a cast on his fractured finger, making his participation in the 1st Test doubtful. Notably, Shan Masood skipped the recently concluded practice session as well to nurse his injury.

Pakistan Did Not Miss Babar, Shan Masood In Practice Match

Talking about the recently concluded practise match, Shan Masood didn't feature and Babar was also ruled out pretty early on in the match. However, Pakistan did not miss their two veteran players. 

The side from Asia registered a comfortable 7 wicket win and gained confidence going into the crucial three-match Test series against England. 

The English side scored 305 runs in the first innings, while Pakistan tumbled for 238 runs. In reply, County Club collapsed for 194 runs, while Pakistan chased down the target with 7 wickets in hand.
