Mehidy Hasan Miraz scripts Bangladesh’s historic win over Australia

Bangladesh bulldozed Australia by nine wickets on Day 4 of the first Test at the Marrara Oval in Darwin. The visitors also took a 1-0 lead in the two-match Test series. In the process, Bangladesh secured its first-ever win on Australian soil, and also rose its PCT to 66.67 in the ongoing World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 points table.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz completed five wickets on the decisive day, while Hasan Mahmud bagged the ‘Player of the Match’ award.

Devdutt Padikkal scores grand 167 on Day 2

Devdutt Padikkal, resuming his innings at 131* on Day 2, scored another 36 runs on the day to reach a grand 167 from 230 balls with 15 boundaries and a six against Sri Lanka in Galle. The innings marked the highest individual score by any Indian number three batter in a Test match against Sri Lanka.

He also became one of the few Indian players to register a 150-plus score against Sri Lanka in Tests, joining an exclusive club featuring Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Shikhar Dhawan and Cheteshwar Pujara.

Dhruv Jurel clubs fiery fifty vs SL, echoes Gautam Gambhir’s sentiment

Dhruv Jurel smeared 51 runs off just 68 balls against Sri Lanka on Day 2 of India’s series-opening first Test match at the Galle International Stadium. The innings marked Jurel’s only second Test fifty.

Speaking with the reporters after stumps in Galle, the cricketer claimed that he is unbothered with personal milestones, thus echoing the sentiments of national head coach Gautam Gambhir.

Ashleigh Gardner-led Trent Rockets win Women’s Hundred 2026

Trent Rockets Women defeated Sunrisers Leeds by eight wickets and 46 balls to spare in the final of the Hundred Women’s 2026 season at Lord’s in London. The outcome marked Rockets’ first-ever Women’s title win in history.

Under the leadership of Australian all-rounder Ashleigh Gardner, bowlers Samantha Bates, Georgia Adams, Kim Garth and Charley Phillips all picked up two wickets each to mop up the Sunrisers for just 91, before Sophia Dunkley made lightwork of Rockets’ chase.

Fatima Sana to lead as Pakistan name Women’s Asia Cup 2026 squad

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has named strong Pakistan Women’s squads for the 2025 Women’s Asia Cup as well as for the subsequent 2026 Asian Games in Japan. Star all-rounder Fatima Sana is set to lead the ‘Women in Green’ in both multi-nation events.
