Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) continued their brilliant run in IPL 2026 with a commanding 33-run victory over Punjab Kings at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Wednesday.

The win helped Pat Cummins-led SRH climb to the top of the points table, while Punjab Kings suffered their third consecutive defeat of the season. However, after the match, Ishan Kishan took a brutal dig at PBKS with an Instagram post.

SRH produced another explosive batting performance after being asked to bat first. Abhishek Sharma gave the team a flying start with 35 off just 13 balls, while Travis Head smashed 38 off 19 deliveries.

Ishan Kishan & Heinrich Klaasen Guide SRH

After the aggressive start, Ishan Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen took control of the innings. Ishan played a quick knock of 55 from 32 balls, while Klaasen continued his superb form with 69 off 43 deliveries. Their partnership ensured SRH posted a huge total of 235/4 in 20 overs.

PBKS never really recovered during the chase after losing early wickets. They were reduced to 4/2 and then 23/3 inside the powerplay. Cooper Connolly fought hard with a magnificent unbeaten 107 off 59 balls, but the lack of support from the other end meant PBKS eventually fell short.

Punjab Kings Pay Heavy Price For Dropped Chances

Punjab Kings’ fielding proved to be one of the biggest reasons behind their defeat. Ishan Kishan alone received three lifelines during his innings, and each missed opportunity hurt PBKS badly.

The first chance came when Cooper Connolly dropped Ishan when he was batting on 9. Soon after, Lockie Ferguson missed another opportunity when Ishan was on 18. PBKS wicketkeeper Prabhsimran Singh also failed to complete a stumping chance when the left-hander was on 20.

Ishan made full use of those opportunities and punished the Punjab bowlers with a fluent half-century.

Heinrich Klaasen also benefited from poor fielding. Shashank Singh dropped him on 13, and the South African batter made PBKS suffer by scoring 69 runs.

Ishan Kishan's Brutal Instagram Dig Goes Viral

Even after the match ended, Ishan Kishan continued troubling Punjab Kings, this time on social media.

The SRH wicketkeeper-batter posted pictures from the match on Instagram with the cheeky caption, "Catch me if you can."

The line quickly went viral among fans, many of whom linked it directly to PBKS dropping him multiple times during the innings.

Aditi Hundia's Comment Grabs Attention Online

Adding more fun to the viral moment was the reaction from Aditi Hundia, who is widely rumoured to be Ishan Kishan’s girlfriend.

She commented on Ishan's Instagram post saying, "Who’s giving you captions?👀"

Aditi Hundia has regularly been seen supporting Ishan Kishan during IPL 2026 matches and has often gone viral for her reactions from the stands. Reports earlier in 2026 suggested that Ishan’s grandfather had confirmed their relationship.

Sunrisers Hyderabad Rise To The Top

With this victory, SRH moved to the top of the IPL 2026 points table and strengthened their chances of finishing in the top four.

SRH's batting lineup has been one of the strongest in the tournament this season.

Heinrich Klaasen is currently leading the Orange Cap race with more than 490 runs this season, while Abhishek Sharma has also been among the top performers.

Under Pat Cummins' leadership, SRH now look like one of the most balanced and dangerous teams in IPL 2026 as the race for the playoffs heats up.
