Capping an eventful day in the world of cricket, here we take a look at five of the biggest cricketing news that emerged out of Friday, April 10.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Ravi Bishnoi on top, Rajasthan Royals thrash RCB

Rajasthan Royals opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi blasted 78 runs off just 26 balls against the RCB in match 16 of the IPL 2026 season. Sooryavanshi’s innings helped him surpass opening partner Yashasvi Jaiswal to claim the coveted ‘Orange Cap’ of the tournament with 200 runs in just four innings at an average of 50. His teammate, Ravi Bishnoi, picked up two wickets in the same match to extend his ‘Purple Cap’ tally to nine wickets in four innings at 12.66.

The Rajasthan Royals franchise also flayed RCB by six wickets with two overs to spare in a chase of 202 in Guwahati, thus maintaining their unbeaten run and solidifying themselves on top of the IPL 2026 points table.

George Linde replaces Wanindu Hasaranga in LSG for IPL 2026

The LSG franchise has roped in South Africa all-rounder George Linde for the ongoing IPL 2026 season. The cricketer will be replacing Sri Lanka spinner Wanindu Hasaranga, who has been ruled out of the entire tournament owing to the hamstring injury he sustained in the recently-concluded 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup back home.

Mitchell Santner set for Mumbai Indians return

The cricketer has so far missed each of Mumbai Indians’ three matches of the ongoing IPL 2026 season so far owing to injury. However, Santner was recently spotted training with his colleagues, indicating that he is nearing full recovery.

Ben Lister returns to New Zealand team in place of injured Kristian Clarke

New Zealand fast bowler Kristian Clarke has been ruled out of the white-ball tour of Bangladesh owing to an injury. The speedster will be replaced by fellow paceman Ben Lister, who will be making his return to the national side after a gap of exactly two years.

Clarke sustained an injury on his right hand while fielding for New Zealand A during a One-Day match against Sri Lanka A in Hambantota.
