Virat Kohli took to an intense training session as the cricketer prepares for his comeback in the upcoming IPL 2026 season. The BCCI has unveiled the first phase of schedule for the tournament. In other news, CSK legend MS Dhoni will be expected to play all matches for the franchise.

Virat Kohli hits the nets, warns rivals with IPL 2026 training

Former India captain and legendary batter Virat Kohli took to an intense nets training session, as per the cricketer’s social media update. The prolific right-handed batter shared a short video of himself, where he can be seen tuning himself for the upcoming IPL 2026 season.

Notably, Kohli will enter the IPL this month as a ‘defending champion’ for the first time in his career. The modern-day batting behemoth was part of the RCB franchise that pipped Punjab Kings in a high-scoring final last year against Punjab Kings.

IPL 2026 schedule unveiled by the BCCI

The BCCI has unveiled the first phase of schedule for the upcoming IPL 2026 season. As per the official itinerary, defending champions RCB will be taking on Sunrisers Hyderabad on March 28 later this month in the opening match of the tournament.

As of now, the BCCI has released the schedule of only the first 20 matches of IPL 2026, and will be announcing the remainder of match listing after receiving further information about poll and election dates from the Indian government.

MS Dhoni to play all IPL 2026 matches, confirms CSK CEO

CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan has confirmed that former captain MS Dhoni is expected to remain available and play all matches for the franchise in the upcoming IPL 2026 season. Currently aged 44, several fans and cricket experts had earlier raised their concerns over the cricketer’s availability and fitness.

While Viswanathan implied that Dhoni will be available for the entire season, he is not sure if the legendary wicketkeeper-batter will play as an impact cricketer or as a full-time member of the playing XI.

Amelia Kerr attains huge record for New Zealand Women in big win

New Zealand Women crushed Zimbabwe by 200 runs in the third ODI match in Dunedin to seal the three-match series 3-0. Captain Amelia Kerr herself came to the fore for her side by scoring 80 runs from 106 balls with 10 elegant boundaries. Taking her team to 303-6 in 50 overs, Amelia also decimated Zimbabwe batting line-up with the ball by picking up sensational figures of 5-22, which included a hat-trick.

Through the course of her spell, the all-rounder became only the third New Zealander and the 14th in Women’s cricket overall to pick up a hat-trick in ODIs.

Nahid Rana helps Bangladesh rout Pakistan in first ODI

Bangladesh walloped Pakistan by eight wickets in Mirpur to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match ODI series. Bowling first, the hosts folded up Pakistan for just 114 in 30.4 overs. Fast bowler Nahid Rana decimated the visitors with exceptional bowling figures of 5-24. Mehidy Hasan Miraz also picked up three, with new ball pacemen Taskin Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman picking up a wicket each.

In response, Bangladesh opener Tanzid Hasan compiled 67* runs off just 42 balls as the hosts cantered themselves to a comfortable win in just 15.1 overs.
