Pakistan cricket has been hit by a double injury setback as all-rounder Hussain Talat and fast bowler Zaman Khan both suffered shoulder injuries, raising concerns about their participation in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026.
It is important to mention that Hussain Talat suffered the injury during the second ODI between Pakistan and Bangladesh in Dhaka. The incident occurred while he was fielding during the second innings of the match.

In the sixth over, Bangladesh batter Litton Das struck a delivery from Mohammad Wasim Jr. through the covers. Hussain Talat sprinted toward the boundary in an attempt to stop the ball from reaching the ropes. As he stretched to pull the ball back, he accidentally stepped onto the boundary foam.
Losing his balance, Hussain Talat crashed into the advertising boards and landed heavily on his left shoulder.

Medical staff quickly rushed onto the field to attend to the injured player. After a brief examination, Hussain Talat was placed on a stretcher and taken off the field before being transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital in Dhaka for further tests.
Later, the PCB confirmed that the all-rounder had been taken for detailed medical checks. Subsequent reports indicated that Hussian Talat had dislocated his shoulder, which will keep him out of competitive cricket for at least three months (12 to 14 weeks) as per Samaa Tv.
Zaman Khan faces race against time for PSL 2026
Meanwhile, another injury concern emerged for Pakistan cricket when fast bowler Zaman Khan suffered a shoulder injury during the ongoing National T20 Cup.
The PCB confirmed that the 24-year-old pacer sustained a dislocation of the Acromioclavicular joint in his right shoulder while fielding in a match between Peshawar and Faisalabad in Peshawar.
Following the incident, the PCB announced that Zaman Khan would report to the National Cricket Academy in Lahore for further assessment by the PCB medical team. Specialists will evaluate the severity of the injury and determine the rehabilitation plan.
“Fast bowler Zaman Khan sustained a dislocation of Acromioclavicular Joint (ACJ) on his right shoulder while fielding during the Faisalabad v Peshawar fixture in the ongoing National T20 Cup in Peshawar,” the board said.
However, reports suggest that the injury could sideline the pacer for several weeks, putting his availability for PSL 2026 in serious doubt as per Propakistani.
PSL franchises may need replacements
The timing of both injuries is particularly unfortunate, as the new season of the PSL is set to begin in less than two weeks.
Hussian Talat had been picked by Lahore Qalandars during the PSL draft, while Zaman Khan was retained by debutant franchise Pindiz in the Gold category.
Pindiz are scheduled to begin their PSL 2026 campaign on 28 March against Peshawar Zalmi, but Zaman Khan’s participation in that match now appears unlikely.
With both players expected to miss a significant period, the franchises are likely to consider replacement players ahead of the tournament.
