But as the challenges are getting bigger, the English side is preparing for the upcoming clash against Team India. Before facing the Men in Blue, England’s skipper, Harry Brook, was asked whether they needed a perfect game. Reflecting on this, Brook’s no-nonsense reply turned heads.
“No, I don't believe that we need a perfect game to win the competition to be honest. The games that we have won have been nowhere near perfect and we've still managed to get the wins convincingly in some of them and then tight (in) the other games,” Brook said.
What has been England’s key to success so far?
In the ongoing tournament, the cricket world has always been vocal about England’s struggle, but their hard work can’t be ignored. Even in the darkest night, they didn’t lose the battles as their bounce back in the Super Eight stage turned heads.
When Harry Brook was asked about that, the England skipper lauded the team’s mindset. While reflecting on this, he highlighted their unity during tough moments and their unwavering faith in their own abilities.
“But it's just the unity that we've had to be able to get across the line, the belief that everybody's shown throughout the games and the calmness that we've had when the bowlers have stood at the top of the mark,” he said.
