Shahrukh Khan has reportedly shown interest in getting Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya into the KKR franchise. Mohammad Rizwan is doubtful for Pakistan’s upcoming Test tour of West Indies. In other news, Matt Henry has joined Jasprit Bumrah to become the number one ranked Test bowler.

Matt Henry joins Bumrah as number one Test bowler

New Zealand speed demon Matt Henry has claimed the number one ranking among bowlers alongside Indian paceman Jasprit Bumrah in Test cricket. Henry picked up a match-winning 11-fer against England at The Oval, helping the speedster gain six rungs to jump to the number one spot.

Both Bumrah and Henry are currently at the helm with 870 rating points each, followed by Australia’s Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins at number three and four positions. 

Joe Root regains number one Test ranking

Former England captain Joe Root has regained his number one ranking in Test cricket among men’s ICC batters. The legendary right-handed batter aggregated scores of 46 and 77 at The Oval against New Zealand, and has so far scored 132 runs in the series at an average of 33. 

Root also recently scaled the 14,000-run mark to become only the second cricketer in history after Sachin Tendulkar to do so. 

Dian Forrester replaces Nandre Burger in TSK for MLC 2026

South Africa batting all-rounder Dian Forrester has been appointed as an official replacement for fast bowler and fellow national Nandre Burger in the Texas Super Kings squad for the remainder of the MLC 2026 season in the USA.

After playing just two matches, Burger has been ruled out of the tournament owing to a pre-existing stress reaction in his back.

SRK factor in bringing Hardik Pandya to KKR: Report

The KKR franchise has expressed its sudden interest in acquiring legendary Mumbai Indians all-rounder and captain Hardik Pandya for next year’s IPL 2027 season. As per reports, KKR co-owner Shahrukh Khan wants to include Pandya in the team, and appoint him as new captain in place of struggling skipper Ajinkya Rahane. 

The KKR franchise is also open to an all-cash deal for the seasoned all-rounder, the report further stated.

Mohammad Rizwan doubtful for WI Tour

Pakistan senior wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan is doubtful for the upcoming Test tour of West Indies. The cricketer has suffered an injury, as reported by Geo News roughly a month prior to the series-opening first Test.

The Pakistan cricket team, on a trail of a shocking series loss to Bangladesh, is scheduled to tour West Indies to play a two-match series between July 25 and August 6 in San Fernando and Port of Spain.
