RCB star Virat Kohli locked horns with Australian opener Travis Head during the RCB vs SRH clash in the recently concluded IPL 2026 season. But according to a social media claim, Head addressed the controversy and took a dig at Kohli.
The incident happened when Kohli, chasing a total for RCB, got frustrated and gestured towards Head, who reportedly had exchanged a few words with him.
Things escalated when, after the game, Virat refused to shake hands with the SRH opener, thus triggering a wave of controversy.

Meanwhile, a social media user named @arshdeep3444 circulated a quote from Head addressing the handshake controversy with Virat Kohli. According to the quote, Head said Kohli sledged him first.
Head went on to add that Virat’s no-handshake gesture shocked him and that he was hurt that his wife and family were dragged into the controversy as they faced hate on social media.
Having said that, the reality is quite different. The entire quote shared by the X user is completely fake and false. Travis Head has not given a single interview addressing the topic involving his fight with Virat Kohli.
The post was shared to gain traction, attention, likes and shares for monetary benefit. In reality, it’s not authentic at all. Hence, fans must check proper sources and refrain from sharing such fake quotes.

All about the Virat Kohli-Travis Head fight
During an IPL 2026 game between RCB and SRH, emotions were running high as SRH had set up a target of 256 runs. In the chase, Bengaluru struggled with the scoreboard pressure.
Virat Kohli got provoked when Head exchanged words with him. Later, Kohli also made a gesture mocking the “Impact Player” rule, because Head often plays as a batting specialist and is substituted out when SRH want an extra bowler.
However, even after the game, emotions didn’t settle. After RCB lost by 55 runs, Virat Kohli refused to shake hands with Head and walked past him by completely ignoring the Aussie. This led to a social media controversy as fans started targeting Head’s wife and family.

After facing hate on social media, Travis Head’s wife, Jessica, broke her silence. She compared the hate to the 2023 ODI World Cup final, where fans targeted her after Head’s century won Australia the title and India ended up on the losing side despite having a perfect tournament.
According to her, the problem is not cricket rivalry itself, it is when fans cross the line and attack players’ families online. She urged fans to remember that players and their families are real people behind the sport.
