For what it’s worth, it is likely that the Hardik Pandya trade rumour from the Mumbai Indians to the Rajasthan Royals might actually turn true. As per recent developments, although soon after IPL 2026, a MI-CSK trade for Pandya was in the talks, as per the internet, it seems like the truth is something else.

As per an official confirmation from Cricbuzz via a CSK insider, there have been no enquiries received by the Chennai Super Kings for a Hardik Pandya trade. Which means, the Rajasthan Royals-Mumbai Indians IPL 2027 trade-off seems to be more likely.

Hardik Pandya Trade Before IPL 2027 Gains Momentum

Just a few days ago, a massive rumour shared that the Rajasthan Royals are looking forward to trading their star opener, Yashasvi Jaiswal, for the MI all-rounder Hardik. While talks of a CSK-MI trade were hot, the Pink vs Blue battle got hotter.

The possibility of Hardik switching sides and leaving the five-time champions is very close; the switch with RR seemed too far-fetched. A CSK-MI trade with MS Dhoni’s intervention was more likely.

CSK Deny MI Trade For Hardik Pandya

However, while speaking to CricBuzz, the CSK insider shared that there have been no talks of Hardik coming to the Yellow camp, and they will also not spare any player to trade off with him.

“Meanwhile, the franchise has received a few trade enquiries, but an approach for Pandya is not among them. For now, the CSK position is that it will not spare any player for trade.” the report read.

Khaleel Ahmed and David Miller Trade Before IPL 2027, Slashed

There was also a rumour alongside the Pandya switch that CSK’s Khaleel Ahmed is set to be traded off with Delhi Capitals’ finisher and Proteas veteran David Miller.

Khaleel has been a solid asset for CSK for the last two years, taking 17 wickets for the franchise. Although he was ruled out of the 2026 season due to a quadriceps injury, the management would not like to part with him soon. He was one of the leading wicket-takers in the 2025 season and would look forward to being one in IPL 2027 as well.

David Miller, on the other hand, is also a solid finisher for DC who has performed occasionally, solidifying his status as the ‘Killer Miller’, smashing at a strike rate of 154.01 in 2026. Hence, both are vital assets of their respective franchises and letting them go will not be a beneficial choice.

No Chance Of DC-CSK Trade At The Moment

As a result, both teams have denied the possibility of a Khaleel Ahmed-David Miller trade outright.

“There was some speculation on Monday that CSK and Delhi Capitals could explore a swap involving Khaleel Ahmed and David Miller, but both franchises have categorically denied the possibility,” the report read.

As things stand now, Chennai Super Kings are firm on their stance on rebuilding the legacy with their new-age superstars.

Despite being composed with a less-experienced side now, the Yellow camp is deliberately shunning off any possible star trade, be it Hardik Pandya or David Miller and would likely continue with their core setup of 2026 into IPL 2027.
