During KKR’s recent press conference ahead of the IPL 2026 season, Dwayne Bravo was caught revealing explicit details about her personal life on a live microphone. Ajinkya Rahane eventually had to step in to put an end to this embarrassment.
The IPL 2026 season is set to kick off on March 28 with RCB taking on SRH at Bengaluru. KKR will take the field on March 29 to face MI at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Dwayne Bravo’s brainfade moment caught on camera
Meanwhile, ahead of IPL 2026, KKR held a press conference featuring head coach Abhishek Nayar, Dwayne Bravo, Shane Watson and captain Ajinkya Rahane.
However, before the press meet could begin, Bravo fumbled massively. He was unaware of the microphone being active and accidentally said, ‘I have two chicks at home.’
Hearing this, Ajinkya Rahane immediately stopped Dwayne Bravo and told him to avoid using such language, as the microphone was active. Bravo instantly regretted his choice of words.

But the damage was already done, as the entire conversation was caught live on air. Fans began slamming Bravo for making unnecessary comments on a public and professional platform.

KKR shares massive update on Matheesha Pathirana
Meanwhile, during the press conference, KKR support staff provided clarity on Matheesha Pathirana’s availability. Pathirana was one of KKR’s biggest auction investments (₹18 crore) and was expected to be their primary death bowler.
However, he suffered a hamstring injury during the ICC T20 World Cup, which ruled him out of the latter stages of that tournament and delayed his IPL participation.
That being said, head coach Abhishek Nayar has now indicated that, based on updates from Sri Lanka’s board, Pathirana is likely to be match-fit by mid-April.
This means that he’ll miss the initial phase of IPL 2026, and KKR will have to rely on backup pacers in the meantime. The bigger issue is that KKR’s bowling unit is already weakened, as Harshit Rana is ruled out for the entire season with an injury.
KKR sweating on batting combination
Apart from player availability issues, KKR is also worried about their batting order. Coach Shane Watson called the situation an ‘embarrassment of riches.’
“The beauty of this Kolkata Knight Riders squad is the number of incredible, world-class batting options we have. It’s an embarrassment of riches in terms of the calibre of players and figuring out where they all fit in. That’s going to be the ultimate challenge for the leaders of this organisation - to get those combinations right from game one and make adjustments as the tournament progresses,” he said.
KKR’s batting order is filled with top-order talents, especially after investing ₹25.20 crore in Cameron Green.
With multiple players like Finn Allen, Tim Seifert, Rachin Ravindra and Ajinkya Rahane preferring to bat at the top, KKR are faced with a tricky balancing act.
Green, too, is most effective in the top order, which creates a selection dilemma given the four-overseas-player limit.
As a result, the team must carefully juggle roles and combinations to avoid disrupting player effectiveness.
