Days ahead of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, the ICC announced a world-class commentary team comprising some of the most respected voices, former captains and World Cup winners from across the world.
The tournament, which begins on June 12 with hosts England taking on Sri Lanka and concludes with the final at Lord's on July 5, will feature a predominantly female-led broadcast team.
Dinesh Karthik included in Women’s T20 World Cup panel
Interestingly, former Indian cricketer and present RCB mentor Dinesh Karthik has also been included in the commentary panel of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026.
Having previously been a part of the T20 World Cup winning squad, Karthik is a highly intelligent commentator with excellent ball knowledge. Hence, his addition will be interesting to watch for the viewers.
Apart from Karthik, the commentary panel also includes Isa Guha, Matthew Hayden, Carlos Brathwaite and Ebony Rainford-Brent.
Also, former Australia stars Mel Jones and Julia Price, members of Australia's ICC Women's Cricket World Cup-winning side, are included alongside Stacy-Ann King, who was part of the West Indies squad that lifted the ICC Women's T20 World Cup.
Nasser Hussain, Ian Bishop and Ian Smith, whose voices became synonymous with the dramatic 2019 ICC Men's Cricket World Cup final at Lord's, will reunite for another major global event in England.

Mithali Raj is also on the commentary panel
From India, former Indian captain Mithali Raj, Anjum Chopra and Veda Krishnamurthy will join Dinesh Karthik. Tash Farrant, Simon Doull, Sana Mir, Isobel Joyce and Katey Martin will lend their voices as well.
The presentation team features experienced broadcasters Charles Dagnall, Natalie Germanos, Alan Wilkins, Laura McGoldrick, Jatin Sapru, Kass Naidoo, Raunak Kapoor and Ali Mitchell.
With 33 matches scheduled across the tournament, the ICC believes the diverse and experienced commentary team will provide audiences around the world with expert analysis, compelling narratives and comprehensive coverage.
India to face Pakistan in tournament opener
Meanwhile, India Women will play their first game of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 against Pakistan Women on June 14 at the Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham.
Both rivals are placed in Group A, and the history of the rivalry is expected to raise the temperature. According to reports, India Women are unlikely to shake hands with Pakistan Women, a practice followed by India since the Pahalgam terror attack that unfolded in April 2025.
The ICC, on the other hand, is also unlikely to interfere in this matter, as post-match handshakes are customary and not mandatory rules. In previous instances as well, ICC allowed India and Pakistan to exclude the handshakes, including the captain's greetings at the toss. Regardless, fans can expect a high-voltage game with India starting as clear favourites.
