Karachi Kings (KK) captain David Warner has openly criticised the Pakistan Super League (PSL 2026) Team of the Tournament.
The Mohsin Naqvi-led PCB released the team a day after the PSL 2026 tournament ended in Lahore, where the Peshawar Zalmi became the new champions.
Peshawar Zalmi had dominated the PSL group stage, finishing at the top of the points table. They faced the Hyderabad Kingsmen in the final of the PSL 2026 and defeated them soundly in a one-sided contest on May 3, 2026.
Peshawar Zalmi defeated Hyderabad Kingsmen in PSL 2026 final
In the PSL 2026 final that was played on May 3 at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam won the toss and chose to bowl first.
And his bowlers proved his decision to be correct. Aaron Hardie took 4/24, as Kingsmen were routed for 129 runs. Saim Ayub made 54 runs, and Marnus Labuschagne made 20 runs as Kingsmen struggled to find rhythm in their innings.
In reply, Zalmi lost Babar Azam for a golden duck, and the top order crumbled thanks to Mohammad Ali’s excellent bowling.
However, though it once looked like Kingsmen might do the unthinkable and defend 129 runs, Aaron Hardie excelled with the bat as well.

He hammered 9 fours in his 39-ball 56* and found support in Abdul Samad, who made 48 runs. The Zalmi achieved the target in 15.2 overs and won the match and the PSL 2026 final by 5 wickets.

He would also open the batting with fellow Zalmi teammate Kusal Mendis. At no. 3 was Hyderabad Kingsmen’s Usman Khan, and Steve Smith of Multan Sultans followed him at the no. 4 spot.
Islamabad United captain Shadab Khan, Arafat Minhas of Multan Sultans, and Sufiyan Muqeem of Peshawar Zalmi completed the nos. 5, 6, and 7, respectively.
Nahid Rana of Zalmi, Hunain Shah of Kingsmen, and Richard Gleeson of Islamabad United were the three pacers picked to complete the PSL 2026 Team of the Tournament.
David Warner slams PCB for ignoring Karachi Kings players
As soon as the Mohsin Naqvi-led PCB shared the PSL Team of the Tournament online, several of the Pakistani cricket fans noticed something amiss. There was no Karachi Kings player included in the XI that was shared.
Not only the fans, but even David Warner pointed out the obvious in a comment on Instagram, where the PSL had shared the creative for the PSL 2026 Team of the Tournament.
