Cameron Green out of Australia's T20I squad [Source: AFP]
Australia barely managed to win the third ODI against Bangladesh, thanks to a stunning hundred from Cooper Connolly that saved their blushes. The Kangaroos lost the ODIs, 1-2, but the caravan now shifts towards the T20I leg of the tour, as the two sides will lock horns in a riveting battle.
The visitors had already announced a strong squad for the upcoming T20Is, with Mitch Marsh announced as the captain. Moreover, the team possessed players with excellent all-round abilities, such as Cameron Green, but it seems Green might not be able to play in the series against Bangladesh.
Cameron Green's name withdrawn from Australia squad
In the original squad, Green was named one of the all-rounders and was expected to play a pivotal role in the Australian team. However, according to the reports by Daniel Cherny of Code Sports, Australia have withdrawn his name from the team, and it is not due to an injury.
Once the white-ball series is concluded between the two nations, Bangladesh will travel to Australia in August for a two-match Test series, and the Australian management wants Green to be ready for the red-ball season.
With the Australian side set to travel to South Africa later this year, the management wants their pace trio of Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, and Mitch Starc ready, fully fit, and hence, one or maybe two of them could be rested for the Bangladesh series.
As a result, Australia might use Green as one of the main pacers against Bangladesh in the two-match Test series. No replacement has been announced as of yet by Cricket Australia for the Bangladesh T20Is.
Cameron Green, a vital cog for Australia's Test team
For years, Australia has been looking for a solid all-rounder who can contribute with both bat and ball. Their search ended with the arrival of Cameron Green, but he has been too inconsistent as of late.

The all-rounder has shown flashes of brilliance in a relatively short Test career, and the Australian management has backed him despite poor form in the last few years.
Why is he important for Australia in Tests? The answer is simple: he gives them runs in the middle-order, and when he clicks, the batter scores runs at a rapid rate. Moreover, the 27-year-old can also consistently bowl at well over 135 km/h, and has the ability to take wickets in red-ball cricket.
How Green performed in the ODIs vs Bangladesh
Cameron Green was also a part of the Australian team that lost in the ODI series against Bangladesh. The all-rounder played in all three ODI games, and scored 104 runs, with an average of 52.
He scored a fifty in the first ODI, and also got starts in the next two matches, but despite that, his side suffered a 1-2 series loss.
Green bowled just 12 overs with the ball in the ODI games and managed to pick up a solitary wicket, with an average of 58, but with a brilliant economy of just 4.83. However, with a packed Australian summer awaiting Green, the team management wants to manage his workload carefully as the Australian star will not play in the T20Is.
